Comment:

Seemed to be disconnect between lecture (which were confusing) and labs (which were easy). Pretty good lecturer overall. Class is 70% lab, 30% final. Final was fairly simple (simple enough that if you get 100% on labs, you only need 67% to get an A-). Class was not podcasted so attendance is recommended (slides are provided nonetheless).

Easy professor, almost 60% students get A in this class. However, you will learn NOTHING if you only take his lectures. If you really want to learn something, you need to learn by yourself. So if you just want to find an easy A class and don't want to learn deep in a topic, this professor is fine, but if you really want to learn, DO NOT take him.

It was his first time teaching this class but I thought he did a good job. The midterm and final exams were pretty straightforwards, but the projects were pretty tough (expected). Having said that, the class suffered for a SERIOUS shortage of help, especially on Piazza. As of writing this, only 31% of questions received instructors' responses. SAD!

Easy class overall, final had a lot of bs questions which were just regurgitating material without understanding, but still easy if you read over the material. Lectures were very clear and helpful, however he is very inaccessible outside of class and was not very helpful on the discussion forums. Overall, I'd recommend though

I can see how this course could be much more difficult than the other teachers. However, I still think that the questions on the tests are much more difficult than anything on the homework. I am very angry with him and frustrated at how fake he is.

My favorite teacher at UCSD so far! He is very good at explaining the material (even in a compressed time frame over the summer). If you attend every class and do the homework, we will do fine in the class. The tests are very fair and he allows notes in the blue areas of the blue book. Would take again if i could!

GREAT instructor who truly cares about students and wants to make learning fun. He is very engaging with his lectures and makes the time fly. He is the best instructor I've had at UCSD. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Chu is by far one of the best professors in the ECE department. His lectures are interesting, he knows his stuff, and has a lot of cool stories to tell about working as an engineer. His assignments and tests aren't that bad, and he's always willing to give you an extra helping hand. Highly, highly recommended.
