He thinks its okay to just be touching his female students all the time. Honestly makes them feel highly uncomfortable. He also has a really hard time speaking English and can be extremely hard to understand.

When grading lab reports he gives no feedback, he would simply write "Redo section" and not be specific. Provides somewhat poor lectures and can be difficult to understand. He wants the best for his students and tries to work with them for the best of his ability

Had him for Values Sem along with Ward. Ward was great but Vatnick is inconsiderate, he has favorites, he isn't very personable and if he doesn't like your opinion he will start saying things to make you feel bad for having that opinion. He also likes to pick on quiet learners. So if you learn quietly don't take his class he wants participation.

Couldn't have taken any worse professor. He discriminates against you if you are of a race or religion other than his. Of course, he doesn't openly do that. I helped my friend with her paper (a lot), she got an A- and I got a D! Also, he favors girls over guys, specially if they show more skin and staff... Lecture (with other prof) saved my grade!

Here's the thing with the bio professors at Widener. Some might be funnier and cookier than others, but they are all going to make you work for your grades. Dr. Vatnick has worked here for over 20 years, he is well respected so in order to do well you need to respect him and put forth max effort and you will be rewarded. Trust me

Everyone on here that gives Vatnick a bad wrap is upset about not getting an easy A. Yeah in his class you have to put forth the effort (Like all bio classes) and as long as you show interest in his topics and ask questions, he is more than willing to help. Only thing is his English is a little hard to understand sometimes, but you get used to it.

Yes his accent is hard to understand at first, but you get used to it. If you are willing to try and put in the effort, he will respect you. If you aren't willing, then he will not. Its as simple as that. Once you get to know him, he's a nice and interesting guy. Just don't be lazy and you'll do fine. I recommend him.

I had him for my freshman seminar, bio 161 lab, bio 162 lab, an environmental science class, traveled to costa rica with him and have him for bio 401 this semester. I love him. He may have a thick accent but he knows it, he just doesnt have respect if you arent willing to try in his classes. Why should he waste his time on you if you dont care?

Didn't like him initially. But he's actualy a nice guy. He comes from a different country. Different expectations. Just don't be rude. He's actually very nice. Friendy. You do work VERY hard. Don't complain. Just work and show up. Then everything will be okay. He even tried to hook me up with chicks. It was funy. Didn't work though. What a cool guy

I do not see him as the way others see him. I think he is a very good teacher and he is a very helpful when you aks for help. he was one of the best biology teacher i have had so far. most students do not want to put in time study and they want to get good grade its not possible. he gives you what you earn.
