"Business Issues for the Visual Artist" She brought visiting speakers including a museum curator, a fine artist, and a commercial photographer who shared a lot of insight about having career in the arts. We went on a field trip to a graphic design business too! I learned how to market my art and creative services, plus gained confidence.

The whole point of this class was to make students feel like when they graduate there going to be able to start a business for them self in the artistic field of their choosing and Ivanna failed miserable at this. She focused mainly on digital arts which left out a good chunk of the class. She also asked us to do an unrealistic amount of work.

We did a variety of projects to learn digital arts skills. My favorite was the stop motion animation movies! I learned so much from that assignment including lighting for green screen effect, photography, sound recording and editing and video editing.

Overall, she gives decent feedback of designs, but forget it if you need help with a program. Unless it's something ridiculously simple, she'll have you look up a tutorial and blame the "new version of the software" for her lack of knowledge. Her expectations for homework are a bit much. 25 sketches is too much for homework.

This course was fun and I learned a lot. I really enjoyed learning how I can experiment with analog photography to make my own unique prints in the darkroom.

She is self centered and does not care about your work. As an education grad student she did not care about how my work could relate to the classroom and completely disregarded half of my final project. I did not see a rubric until the end of the semester, and by then it was too late to make any changes.

Professor George is mean, put simply. If she doesnt like your style of work, you wont get a good grade regardless of if they work is done well. She will grade you harshly and give no explanations. She doesnt listen to student feedback and will pretend she likes you until critique day where she tears your work the shreds.

I took a lighting for photography class with Prof. George. It was really fun because we did a lot of hands on instruction and shooting a variety of subjects with all kinds of lighting styles. We even went on three field trips where we shot fashion models on location. We did all kinds of still life and products in the classroom too. Awesome class

I'm so proud of my portfolio for this class. The teacher did a good job of guiding us through the basics and then helping us refine our work at the end. After seeing the final work of students from other sections of Photo 1 I was so glad that I took the class with Prof. George. The quality of work among my classmates was superior.

She is super nice and very patient with teaching the digital imaging software. I had trouble at first learning the software because it was so complicated but she is very helpful, and the book we use is good showing how to do everything step by step so I can always refer to it if I forget how to do something.

I learned way more than I anticipated was possible in an intro class. It was challenging but I loved it. I am a photo major so it a was great experience for me. The best takeaway is that I now notice when a good photo opportunity arises and I know how to get the images I want.

I took photography in high school and decided to try taking it at the college level. The class was challenging but I prefer that to an easy class because I learn more. After this one class with Prof. George I was inspired to take photography as a second major.

I took this class at another school but decided to repeat it here because I did not get that much from my previous professor. I am learning a lot more in Prof. George's class and I have a better grasp on the techniques of photography than ever before. I feel ready to go on to the next level and I would take another class with her.

If photography is your passion and you let her know it, she will really help you grow as an artist, at least that is how it was for me. She has a lot of knowledge. I got a lot out of this class and will take other classes with her in the future. Yes it is expensive as other reviewers mention, but any photography class will be expensive.

the worst.sends emails instead of having any face to face communication. rude, snarky remarks about your photography. her standards are way too high for an intro level class. if you're 1 minute late, you're tardy which is ridiculous cause she doesn't start till everyone is there anyways.steps are already being taken to get rid of her so lets hope!

Beyond unorganized. Loses students work and has too many expectations for a level 100 course. Too expensive. Other photo teacher cover most of the fees. Very opinionated as well and picks favorites. Used to like her, now I can't stand her. Photo lab was wrecked and students paid the cost for it in their work and grades. Also, evaluation fail.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. avoid taking her at all costs. she is beyond vague, she is of absolutely no help. She plays favorites and you most likely won't be one, which will make your semester MISERABLE. her work load & expectations are ridiculous. BE PREPARED TO SPEND RIDICULOUS MONEY! AND WASTE MOST OF IT! awful, awful, awful.

Lacks social skills, is very conceited and obnoxious, easily distracted, can't manage her class time, expects you to buy $$ too muhc stuff. Unrealistic expectations about students artistic abilities. Expects you to have a daap dark secret that you will reveal through you art and is insultingly disiponted when you don't have one or want to share it
