Comment:

I took his religion and politics class. It was interesting but if you're easily triggered by VERY conservative views on sex, abortion etc. it might be tough. He has strong opinions about that but also respects other people's opinions. Readings and assignments were difficult but there wasn't that many of them. Quiz every class (almost).

There is not enough money in the world to make me take this class again. Attendance is mandatory (miss more than 2 and your grade drops a full letter... and he doesn't use the +- system) but the lectures are essentially pointless. He just summarizes texts that aren't exactly cryptic (the federalist papers) as if he is a prophet.

He is truly passionate about philosophy and human nature. I like his lecture style and he clearly knows his stuff and isn't afraid to stye his opinion, but will completely respect your opinion at the same time.

I found his articles interesting to read. The beginning of the semester was my favorite part of the course but then he transitions the end of the semester with his moral views on sex, family, and marriage. I never missed class and found his course to be extremely difficult. You will be dedicating lots of time to the material.

this was the toughest class i have ever taken at UT. we had to do 26 total papers, each 4 pages each, and then i still end up getting a C even though i was there every class period 8 in the morning. do not, i repeat, do not take his class. period.

Budziszewski was the most weird, infuriating professor I had at UT. In a survey class, he liked to rant on the evils of masturbation. He was ridiculously smug, as if he had everything figured out. He started out his career as a Marxist, then became a Christian, replacing one dogma with another, without missing a beat. Very smarmy.

Pompous. Topics are interesting, but he finds a way to make them boring. Has weird anger issues--when he is discussing a case he disagreed with, screamed "she was out SCREWING her boyfriends" about some 15 year old who "divorced" her parents, but then he tries to act like he has the love of God in him. Allows three absences and then get docked.
