Dr. Davis was the most amazing teacher at JSU. I had him for theory and history. His knowledge was astounding and he would up a whole new world through history. For prospective students, Dr. Davis passed away in the spring of 2007. He has been greatly missed by all colleagues and students.

Dr. Davis is probably one of the smartest people at JSU, and one of the best teachers. He can be difficult, but as long as you pay attention and study, you'll be fine. He can definitely tell some great stories, at least.

An amazingly talented teacher! I had him for 3 semesters of theory and loved every one of them! He is tough for aural skills, but if you do your work, you'll learn what you need to know. He is very fair. I also had him for music history and loved both of those classes as well.

Absolutely the best in Mason Hall. No questions asked. May be the best at the university. There is no excuse for not taking Dr. Davis other than sheer laziness. Yes, it's tough..but if you do it..you WILL know it.

I see several complaints...lazy people. Dr. Davis is THE most knowledgable person in Mason Hall. If you want your money's worth and learn more than just the books, then take him. If you just want to learn enough to graduate, then find someone else.

The only way I passed this class was to IGNORE everything he said and study past tests. If you try to just memorize what he says in class, which is mostly pointless stories, then you will fail!

An incredibly intelligent man and hilarious. I agree he knows the book forwards and backwards, but I suspect that's b/c all he does in class is read the darn thing to us everyday. TRY TEACHING THE CLASS SIR!!!
