Her class requires a TON of memorization but splits up the material into many exams (which you have a notecard for) in order to make it a bit easier. For tests make sure you review ALL her notes and the posted sample questions, and you should be fine. She gives extra credit, which is super helpful. She does her best to make the class reasonable.

I have this love/hate relationship w/ her. Her class is rote memorization. All you have to do is shove all the information she gives you into your brain. That is all she requires. Even so, it's a crazy amount of material. She isn't the best lecturer. She is kind of the sass master w/ emails. She does give extra credit. I liked this class, mostly.

Her lectures felt long at times because she spoke a lot and went too fast sometimes. However, I did like how she gave you slides to fill-in as she spoke. Her tests are fairly challenging, but they are fair-game and she does care about helping her students, especially in office hours. Overall, you will have to work hard but she is a decent teacher.

You know those professors who act like they are being so reasonable, and they constantly compliment themselves on their "reasonableness?" Yup, she is the epitome of this. Class is based on memorization. Not the best lecturer (fill in the blank slide notes), but tests in my opinion were fair. Skims over difficult concepts. Nitpicky about details.

Professor Brunauer was wonderful. Not only was she quite concerned about how well her students were learning the material, she went out of her way to help anyone who was struggling. Her method of teaching was particularly clear.

Great teacher! I felt like I learned so much. If you do the work that she suggests/assigns and prepare well for tests you should do well in the class.

She is extremely accessible and loves to help teach during her office hours. She is super patient during her office hours despite her fast pace lectures. Take advantage of her office hours if you don't understand her lectures. She's super funny and loves to talk to students.

She's amazing! I absolutely love her, prior to her class I was totally horrified of chemistry and she changed that for me. She's extremely accessible during her office hours which help out ALOT she's really friendly, sit in the front row and she'll share alot of funny stories before class. All in all SCU is very fortunate to have a great teacher.

She didn't teach in class. She taught at Office Hours. If you couldn't make her office hours, well then, you were screwed. Her policy on tests is to feature as many problems as possible, forcing you to memorize problem tactics and regurgitate them as fast as possible. No time for actual thinking, goodness no.

I took this during the summer and she is a great teacher! The tests aren't ridiculous, but you have to study and put in a good effort in note taking. She is very helpful, and a very, very nice person to talk to. She also makes you pay attention, because she makes Chemistry interesting and applicable.

Dr. Brunauer is really good. She is pretty hard but she is such a good teacher. Now that I'm back at my home institution and taking more chemistry, I miss her more than ever. SCU is lucky to have her

Dr. Brunauer is a great professor. I had her for Chem 12, 141, and 143. She is very clear in class, and if you don't understand something, try talking to her after class...she'll definitely help you. Yes, her tests can be difficult, but it's college and it isn't supposed to be easy. If you don't do well in class, it's you're own fault, not hers.

It's gen chem-not biochem or ochem. needs to keep things basic b/c it's gen chem. cyclohexanes scares gen-chem students! stop using them! they're not at level yet. also, typical female chem teacher, moderately clear on lectures. prides herself in screwing people on exams. test needs to be shorter! test us not fail us.

Incredibly clear, succint lecturer. Gets impatient with stupid (i.e. off-topic) questions, but really cares that her students learn. Tests are not difficult if you study your notes and do the homework.
