BORING! His class was boring, the readings were awful, and he didn't know what he was talking about. He's not a hard grader, and he's a nice guy, but I don't think he's good enough to teach at the college level.

Way too much writing for PoG. Three papers of 6, 7, and 8 pages. Reading is intense, too, but you can get away without doing it for the papers, but not for the quizzes. Just regurgitate class notes in the papers and you should get the staple A-/B+ regardless. Seems like a nice guy, but asks questions that makes it hard to participate.

Boring classes, but if you go and take notes then you'll do fine. Quizzes were really easy and papers aren't too hard. If you take up half the page with your header and only right 6.5 pages for a 7 page paper hes fine with it. Lectures are boring and repetitive.

Comment:

Cool guy with sardonic remarks that will keep you entertained. He is not afraid to roll his eyes at your comments. He tells you whats on the quizzes but the papers are hard to get A's on. I kept getting A-'s all semester. Pretty easy and really interesting. As dorky as it sounds, I did a lot of personal growth because of the material we read.

A good professor. You get what you put into it. While you probably could get by without reading everything, the books are really interesting so I reccomend doing so(and so are class discussions). Manegable coursework.

nice guy, easy class, you don't have to do the readings bc he goes over everything in class you need to know. easy quizzes, not a hard grader on the papers, just talks and likes class participation a lot. if you want an easy prob of God take this, hes pretty sweet.

Do the readings, but if it's too much of a struggle then just wait for class and he will say exactly what you need to know for papers and tests. He is obsessed with the comfort vs. security in religion debate, so be prepared to write on this a lot. Three major papers along with four easy quizes and two short papers make up the grade.

Awesome guy, very friendly and intelligent. He uses examples in class to assess the "problem of god" that will make the topic funny and interesting to you, even if you're not all that religious. Definately take his class.

Howe leans against the blackboard when he talks and gets chalk on his back. He is friendly and caring, and he assigns interesting readings. Quite a guy. Take him. Easy class, with minimal work due throughout the semester.

I really enjoyed his class! I highly recommend it to anyone who isn't too keen on taking Problem of God. Very helpful in office hours, and a reasonable grader. His sardonic comments get better as the semester progresses :)

Great Professor and a very nice guy. Watch out on essays, he tends to dislike arguments and prefers your thoughts. If you do the readings and come to class you should have no problem.
