Doesn't answer your emails. Requires a lot of reading. Gives four projects throughout the semester. Some are group, some not. Gives a lot of extra credit. Quiz almost every week that are 25 questions. His exams are 75 questions and difficult. Lecture can get boring.

Nesbitt's GEOG 101 online course is almost entirely subjective. He does no teaching and posts no course content- he simply posts link after link to overtly biased internet articles and mandates hours and hours of online discussions about them. Grading is also subjective- how does one grade responses to an opinion piece? He won't tell.

Dr. Nesbitt is my favorite professor I've had for a gen ed course. He's funny (if you're paying attention) and gives good lectures. He's pretty easygoing as far as discussion due dates as long as you don't make a habit of missing them. Very cool guy, get to know him if you can. He has lots of knowledge to share.

I wouldn't recommend this class for a gen. ed. This class isn't necessarily difficult, just very demanding. Tests and quizzes are impossible, no body did well. He passed around a scantron with your student ID so you could see what other people got. This course is way too in depth for a gen. ed./intro course. Take something else.

I had Dr. Nesbitt at 8am and I thought I was going to die walking into that class some mornings because his class is so lecture heavy. Prepare yourself to sit and listen while frantically scribbling notes the whole time. However, the content of the class was incredible. Dr. Nesbitt is incredibly passionate and I learned a ton.

Comment:
Dr. Nesbitt is a decent teacher and has strong knowledge on geography and globalization. However, his tests and quizzes are difficult (few do well on them) and his powerpoints can get dull and hard to pay attention to, especially if you have a 115 class with him. His projects besides the last one are easy and extra credit is a huge help to grades.

Extremely personable. straight lecture with powerpoint but gets class involved with discussion. Tests are pretty difficult. Expects student to read textbook chapter before class then the powerpoint is review. Some extra credit opportunities. Also posts tons of videos to watch for examples.

This is a summer 3-week class. I expected it to be intense. However, I was not expecting to spend 5+ hours on this course a day. The book is impossible to understand and the course is extremely difficult because of that. The professor seems nice, but I think the course would be better with a book that makes more sense to non-majors.

Great Geography professor. Very informative. The book he has us read at the end of the semester (Confessions of an Economic Hitman) is borderline conspiracy theory, and there are a lot of videos to watch out of class. But a very interesting subject. It is impossible to leave a lecture without learning something new.

I have taken A LOT of geog classes with Nesbitt: 100, 440, 315, 445, 305, 260, and 212. Only one of them was in the classroom (260). Online courses take up a lot of time, they're meant to exercise your brain and get you thinking analytically; if that's not your thing, avoid taking online. Nesbitt was helpful to me & was my advisor for 3 years.

There was a discussion everyday, with multiple discussion involved in each individual one. Really easy class though, high use of the textbook, but he always emailed back promptly. A couple of assignments, but overall super easy class.

This class is super easy. You basically just take notes on his powerpoints, and he sends them to you. You also watch a lot of movies, but the videos are on the tests. A lot of the test questions come from the book instead of his notes. Really helpful guy, wants his students to do well!

Pretty good profesor he lectures with power points and would email them to you after class so if you dont want to take notes you can just read the power points after or if you missed class the material he went over would be there. He shows movies often which are a part of his tests and quizs so you shouldnt miss them.

Attendance is mandatory to get a good grade. Your grade is based on tests and quizzes. Take lots of notes, read the assigned readings, and participate on the online discussion board every once in awhile and you should receive at least a B. I'd recommend taking GEOG260, it's a thought provoking class.

Good professor. Class was sometimes boring, but attendance wasn't required. Though he's hard and you must attend and pay attention to get a good grade. Exams reflect this. Study. He has a lot of enthusiasm for the subject. If you have questions, go to him. He doesn't review exams or ask if you have questions in class. Does require some outside work

Nesbitt is a good teacher. He knows his stuff and encourages his students to get involved in class. The book is used pretty heavily, but it helps clarify info in the class. Tests are on scantron sheets, but if you pay attention they aren't too hard.

He is a horrible teacher, he has no interest in actually teaching. Provides no feed back on work and then proceeds to give low grades without any ways to correct your work. Also he has a not late instant E grading scale which means you get one thing late instant E. Who's ever not had at least one thing late?

Dr. Nesbitt is not a good professor. He lectures for a few class periods, then when you take the exams none of the info is on them. He makes his tests extremely hard and few people actually do well on them. He is not willing to help people bring up their grades and is a very hard professor. AVOID IF YOU CAN!!

Todd Nesbitt is a great professor. I am currently in his class this semester, and I have grown a sincere interest in the topics, based largely on his enthusiasm. I def. recommend taking one of his classes if you get the opportunity.
