Comment:
Dr. Tscherne is a great professor for CHM141. She explains the whole lab before you start, and makes sure that everyone understands the procedures . Her tests are a bit challenging, but she lets you know which labs to study before taking it. Don't expect to leave early from class, and be prepared to write time consuming lab reports

She explains the lab before you do it. Which is great if you didnt read the lab manuel. Most teachers wont. She is very helpful. And will let you turn in late work sometimes if your sick.

I never with drew from a class in my 4 years of school untill I got to her class. She lectures fast, doesn't like to answer students questions, moody, and isn't specific on what is going to be on the quizes. I didn't want to withdraw but I had no choice. I advise everyone to be careful in choosing her as your teacher!

I felt so uncomfortable asking questions in this class because when I did she was so snappy with me. Her moods were hard to follow and I didn't receive the help I needed. I received a C+ in this class, my first C+ in the 2 years I've been at Bergen. If you take her, then brace yourself. Not a fun last semester at Bergen with this class.

1) I am really suprised by looking at some of the comments about her clarity. Yes! Although she is really helpful to her students but she is NOT clear in the lectures as she speaks way too FAST! 2) Her exam is NOT easy. It's very tricky.

She is extremely helpful! She sometimes goes too fast in class, perhaps due to time restraints; however, she helps students a lot if you don't understand the topic well. She gives time for her students when clarifying things or whether you need something. ONE OF THE BEST CHEMISTRY PROFESSORS!!!

Her class was alright, but alot of work, especially that she wants a written summary for every lab experiment. She is good with explaining but sometimes goes fast. Her final was 5 pages with a lot of theory as well as calculations, so you really have to understand all the lab experiments. Overall is a good professor and grader. She counts 84 as B+.

She is a good professor, but the class is tough. She tries to break things down and quickly, but you still need to read the book. There is a lot of reaction problems on every chapter, so make sure you practice. It's a very interesting class, but pay a lot of attention and take notes.

Professor Tscherne may be the worst teacher I have had at BCC so far. I was surprised by the positive comments on her clarity because, in my experience of having her, she talks way too fast and unclear, and is unable to answer the questions I have concisely. Although she is knowledge in chemistry, I don't think she relays it well to others.

Excellent professor, superb clarity. I am looking to take College Chem now and would love to take a class with her again. The material goes by very quickly, and most of the time things are only reviewed once, so PAY ATTENTION! If it is spoken about for 5 minutes, go study it for 30 minutes. Generous grader and a pretty snazzy dresser, too.

She's probably a lot better in person but I didn't find her online class useful. Very abstract and you're on your own. It probably works for someone who already took Chemistry or is a natural, but for those who struggle with science, either take her live or find another live class to do it in.

I had her for Chem Lab. She is the HOD for chem, and it's obvious why. She thoroughly explains everything, "holds your hand" to get you through the confusing-at-times concepts or equations, and is personable with students. I wish I could have had her for lecture. She is a superb prof. She doesn't require additional lab reports, just the pre-, dat

I have had three different chemistry professors in bergen. She is the best one I had so far in terms of clarity. However she is pretty moody and hates when you have more than one question for her. She really doesnt answer questions and tells you to just look it up yourself.
