Classes really drag on because there is nearly no teacher-student interaction. He talks to the board while he keeps writing. However, few homework assignments, and a nice curve on the grades at the end. Tests are hard but some are open book/notes. Read the textbook chapters, work out problems on your own, and you'll do fine.

Also took for PS 16. Pretty good professor, his homework isn't too hard and it helps you learn the material better than just taking notes in class. His tests arent bad at all because you get to omit one of the problems. I would recommend him because he's helpful to students and tries to make sure everyone understands the material.

He is a wonderful professor! My favorite professor in the physics department and maybe even in the entire science department at Fairfield. He is not a hard grader, his tests are reasonable and the homework is usually only 4 or 5 questions. He is extremely organized with his notes and is clear with the material he expects students to know for test

He is an awesome guy. He may be tough, but at least you know you are learning. He is very willing to help you out with anything, not just his class. He is always in his office during his office hours plus more.. he has extra help sessions.. he is very fair with grading. He is one of the nicest, most helpful teachers I have ever had.

He really knows a lot about physics. He has sessions to go over the homework and really helps you. The tests are okay but you only have to answer 5 of the 6 questions. Attendance isn't mandatory but you should really go because sometimes the textbook is confused and he explains it really well and gives good numerical examples.

probably the worst teacher i've ever had...i've taken physics before and he makes it so complicated and doesn't teach at all. he talks to himself and the white board and is very unclear. he's a nice guy though.

Very good teacher! He has a clear outline of all material that he follows every day. Rarely assigns homework. You will have to work, but he is very fair. Tests / final usually takehome, and if not he can always be convinced to make them takehome. He is the best teacher I have ever had, highly recommended!

He is such a nice guy and so approachable. The only problem with him though is that he teaches like you already know the information. As long as you ask questions in the class and go to the Practice Problems class, you'll be fine for the tests.

This professor is one of the best I've had at Fairfield. Dr. Beal is extremely understanding and is always willing to help you out with anything should you fall behind in a class. If you can take his class, I'd highly recommend it!
