Il réussit à faire rire toute la classe en parlant de démographie en 1620 dans la vallée du Saint-Laurent: il est coloré et hilarant. Ses travaux sont originaux et très utiles pour aller plus loin. Il connait sa matière et la transmet avec passion, sans se perdre les détails et à grand renfort d'expressions délurés d'un autre temps.
