If you have no accounting knowledge, attend SI and get a tutor. Haverty is a nice professor, but he doesn't teach during class, he reads off of a slideshow.

Class consisted of him going over homework every day and calling on people in alphabetical order. He didn't teach anything before hand, he just went over the homework the entire class. It was mind numbingly boring, not to mention he is incredibly rude and not at all helpful.

Words cannot describe my utter hatred for this man. TOUGH GRADER. Will bash you for the smallest things on homework. He doesn't teach in class and expects you to learn on your own. He goes over homework assignments in class, calls on people randomly to answer them, and that's about it! Obsessed with swine flu & talking about it. AVOID IF POSSIBLE!

Class for me was basically like this: come to class, stay awake for about 15 mins in case he calls on you for a question, and then fall asleep. The best part is that he doesn't care. He is pretty boring, but the class isn't too bad. The tests (75% of grade) are pretty hard, but that's the way it's gonna be if you're an accounting major. MACAU!

Haverty is the greatest accounting professor at sju. He wears little ties, and sits in such a way that shows off his enormous bulge. He has yellow fever aka he loves asia and asians. He talks about how absorbtion costing is witchcraft, and how things are slimey. Your a partial jackass if you dont take him.

Haverty is a really nice guy. He explains concepts clearly, and is very willing to work with you to try and help you understand. Two tests, says attendence is mandatory but that's only for the first couple of classes. Very quirky, talks about China a lot and shows pictures. I would def recommend him!
