Fun class and interesting topics but its very tough class because all he does is lecture. No notes or powerpoints. Basically take good notes and come to class or you will fail. Says you dont need textbook however there are questions on the test from the textbook. They way I passed was recording his lectures and teaching myself the content.

Jack is amazing. Hes incredibly experienced and his background comes through in any class he teaches. Pay attention and take good notes (its easy to forget as you get wrapped up in his stories). Attendance isnt mandatory but you will fail if you dont show up, as he covers a lot of things that arent in the textbook.

He is an amazing professor with decades of experience under his belt. Don't forget during those amazing lectures though to be taking intense notes. He will sometimes go on storytelling tangents that seem unrelated but take notes on them anyways! Only graded on a paper, a midterm, and a final. He does curve though. You will work for your grade!

Great professor. Grades on a curve. You dont have to show up, but if you want to pass you should. He definitely made the class fun to attend, but be prepared to memorize a lot of difficult terminology

I am sure Dr. Schultz was once an amazing professor. This class was 100% auditory, does not write on the board or use powerpoint, or computers for that matter. Talked about sex a lot and was inappropriate with students often. Feel like I need to retake the class because I learned more about his anecdotal experiences than Cultural Anthropology.

Witchcraft, sorcery and shamanism! Sold yet? Schultz may become one of your favorite all-time professors. Neat lecture subjects a short cruise through ancient anthropology then an expansive look into globalization, social contruction, Native American tribal issues current and past. I most liked- religion, dominant culcultures and Schultz' delivery

This guy is a GEM! He has clearly been around the block more than a couple times and knows the topic down to the point. He grades on 2 tests (midterm and final) and a term paper. His tests are not easy... But he does curve the grade. I worked my tail off for a B. Expect to read, take notes diligently, and show up to class regularly!

The most memorable professor I have ever had. I took classes from him just because he was teaching them. He's genuine and interesting. In my opinion, that's what makes the class easy. It's college- you have to study! It's obvious that he teaches because he enjoys it. I wish that I had the time to take another one of his classes!

His lectures are so fascinating to listen to and makes the class period go by fast. He talks about his experiences in the anthropology field and some stories are just unbelievable! There is a textbook that goes along with his lectures, which really helps you do better on his tests. Tests are pretty easy though, mostly lecture based so attend class

He is a great teacher. He is very knowledgable about Anthropology and has many stories about all his experience that are relevant to what we are learning. We only ad 3 test they are almost all based on the notes expect a couple are from the book. Just make sure to go to every class and take notes and his review sessions.

I really enjoyed his lectures, but he's an older guy and it's just him sitting up front, talking, occasionally a few bits of info on the board. He likes videos, and WILL make them apart of the tests (we had a midterm and a final, that's it), and the videos are some ancient vhs documentaries. His tests are a fair split between lecture, videos&text

Don't take this class if u can't appreciate old-school academia coupled with lecture-style learning. This guy is the real deal. Come to class every day; record everything he says; organize and study your notes diligently before each test; and be prepared to write an 8-15 page paper. If u can't do that u don't deserve this incredible opportunity.

If you're interested in anthropology, do yourself a favor and take any one of Jack's classes. The dude is a rare breed and an anthro rockstar. He's spent 40 years living on 9 U.S. Indian reservations; traveled the world practicing anthro in Africa, Central America and beyond; while continuing to teach our silly asses with gratitude and affection.

Jack is a true professor that's dedicated his life to both applying anthro to solve real problems and teaching it to help the next generations do the same. He is a rare gift to academia! Incredibly knowledgable/experienced, uncharacteristically humble, and decades younger in spirit than most of his students/colleagues. Show respect. He deserves it!

Most interesting class I've ever taken. Lecture based class, but he is very careful to make sure you get the point. If he repeats himself or writes something on the board, it is important and WILL be on the test. Three tests overall, no homework. Book 'assigned' but I didn't buy it and did fine.

Jack is truly an amazing being. He is full of information and stories that will change your life. And hour and a half, twice a week isn't enough time to be in his company. I ended up taking multiple classes by him. If you have the money I highly suggest doing the summer trip with him to the reservation in southern Colorado.

Has amazing stories! I took both of his classes at CSU and loved them both! You only have 2 exams , a final, and a term paper. A LOT of information!! Extremely understanding. My alarm didn't go off the day the paper was due and still let me turn it in. seriously one of my all time favorite profs! I wish he taught another class up here!
