Well, in compare to other professors, he never tries to critique you to show you how much he knows. He tells you what you need to know, so if he doesn't critique you too much, it is a good thing, trust me. because, regardless of having fun in his classes, whenever he told me something, I saw that fact in my art pieces. He knows what he is doing.

I loved this course. I'm not an art major but did well enough in the class that I got a painting in the student juried show. I learned a lot about art and color and composition. It was a lot of outside work but other students and I got together on weekends and had fun painting in the studio. If you get a chance take a class with Jack.

This (illustration) has been my favorite class. Jack doesn't just teach a subject he makes you want to love it. His assignments are fun and make great portfolio pieces. I changed my major to illustration because of him.

Jack pretty much does his own thing and just includes the students as a side thing. I didn't learn too much about the subject, but I did learn a lot about him. I was busy with projects; there's never tests and the recommended reading didn't matter for the class.

He's classes are THE BEST.Highly recomended!He's funny and sarcastic,his classes arn't boring at all.If you do not know what art class to take,take anny of the classes Turnock's teaching. Do your homework on time and show interest in class.Seriously, he's classes don't feel like classes;they feel like some spare time u have with some classmates!
