I found the Rice was not clear at all, she seemed to not know many of the basics which for cpsc and kids that take it that are just learning could be tough, classes felt extremely long and some assignments that were done in the labs she never explained.

Jackie is a great teacher. Tests were average difficulty, and lectures were easy to listen to. Lots of easy participation marks. Would definitely take again. She knows her stuff.

Jackie is a super kind lady, obviously loves her job, lectures aren't always interesting but she gives easy participation marks for those who go to lectures. If you attend labs and make an effort in them, it's an easy A. A good lab instructor also makes a world of difference (labs assignments are heavily weighted)

Such a sweet woman. Always came to class with a smile and always had a interesting approach to teaching. She made me fall in love with Binary. Easy class, but you learn lots too.

She made the topic very interesting. Yes, everyone knows about computers, but studying about algorithms and binary codes was really painful. I understood them, I just didn't care! The lab was another story...HATED the Lab! Helpful if they get someone that actually speaks English!

Clear...about everything but computers. Her knowledge seems to blow your mind on how little it can be. Students in my class have corrected her numerous times. Worst part of this class...feeling like you know more than the prof...best part...chillin with your friends.

She is a very condescending prof, and it's really hard to learn from her. She doesn't really help when you email her. She says that she will reply almost immediately to your emails, but I've had to wait days to over a week for a simple reply to a simple question.

Dr. Rice is awesome. I took 1620 with her, and she did a great job. Her notes were great and she's very helpful. She also explains the concepts really well, so I actually understood what she was trying to explain. And she's hot. Very friendly and approachable.
