The worst. She makes the "study guide" before she makes the actual exam (which she makes at 4am the same day of the exam). So HALF the stuff on the study guide is not on the exam so you waste a lot of time studying stuff you do not need to know. VERY SPECIFIC GRADER. If you do not get EXACTLY what she wants, it's wrong. DO NOT TAKE HER.

Shouldve been an easy A. Expects you to know the book and the notes and other random materials inside and out. Doesnt go over everything on exams, super specific grader. Not super helpful outside of class.

(Linked w/ EN277) This class was tough. Schmidt made very easy material more complicated with long, boring lectures and tough tests. I would recommend to not take any classes with her.

(Linked with EN 277) Jackie is awesome. She cares a lot if you put in effort. Shell give you a study guide. read the book, come to class. she played a game with us. She sometimes lectures for a while, but they are not too bad. She is easy to talk to and is easily accessible. Tests are mostly memorization. Put in a little effort and youll be fine.

I took this class as it was linked to an English class that I needed to further my major. Ultimately, the concepts that you learn in this class are pretty self-explanatory. The book throws long and useless definitions onto things that you automatically realize as virtue of being alive. You won't do well if you don't do the readings.

Schmidt is a very pleasant person, and I did enjoy the course material. Her classes feel pointless though. I could not go to any, study the textbook, and get an A. Her lectures are so long and boring, bring something else to do during class. She is a pretty tough grader, so you have to really put in a good amount of effort. Overall, nice and smart!

Nicest lady you'll ever meet. Content in class seems simple but tests are surprisingly hard and there are a lot of them. Was expecting an easy class, but that's not what I got.

The class requires time and effort but overall should not be too difficult. Do the readings and look over things before the tests. She provides a lot of opportunities to do well through assignments, study sessions, and extra credit. Clearly enjoys teaching and is passionate about her subject.

Definitely learned a lot in lecture, if not, the textbook. Tests were a challenge at first but just look at her review sheets and read over what's on it at least once and you'll be set. Even if you do poorly on her tests she hands out a lot of assignments to boost your grade. Interpersonal skills are useful in everyday situations--take this class

She is not what you want for a professor. She claims things arent comprehensive but they most definitely are. She gives 7-12 handouts per class that you have no idea what they are but she manages to find a way to use them on the test. Her test questions make no sense. Avoid at all costs.

Had her for interviewing principles. Great teacher! So nice and so knowledgeable. Her tests are really hard and there's a lot of work in the class but its definitely worth it to take. I highly recommend. One of the best teachers at JCU

Dr. Schmidt is an awesome lady! Nice and caring! She really likes students to get involved. Tests are pretty hard but if you memorize the chapters and LISTEN AND TAKE NOTES (even if it doesn't seem like something that would be a big deal, write it down)you shouldn't have a problem. Also, you get a million handouts so stay organized. You'll loveHer

I'm not really inclined to say she was my favorite professor, or even one that I remember as "great," but she doesn't stand out as a horrible professor, and I've had my share of those at JCU...

Schmidt is the nicest lady tests can be a little difficult just memorize study guide material and you will at least get a C or better on the tests all inbetween work makes up for grades and you can still pull an A or B even if you get like straight c's on her tests! a lot of handouts and busy work but well worth it because she is nice and easy

Tests are hard she gives you study guides everything is off teh study guide if you memorize the sections it will help.. tests you may do****ty but all the inbetween papers and little stuff make up for any bad test score so you will do fine in the end an easy grader on papers and everything practically a hundreds on all but she gives tons of handou

I don't know what these other people are talking about, but Schmidt is one of my two least favorite professors at JCU. She may be a nice woman, but she can't teach to save her life. Her assignments are totally vague...her lectures are random and boring...I've drawn more funny pictures of her in my notebook than I have notes. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL
