I heard this course is good and it wasnt. It was GREAT! Professor Jorne has been teaching a long time but stays so up to date he is amazing. He knows whats happening with fuel cells, electric cars etc. In my four years here he is in the top three of my favorite professors. He is very encouraging and very patient. Hard tests but grades fairly.

Dr Jorne is a great professor. You will learn so much and he is on top of his field. Any question you have in Microelectronics Processing he can either answer or work together to find the answer. You can tell he likes to teach and really likes lively students who care about learning. If he sees you making an effort he will help you achieve.

Prof Jorne teaches well. I took his course on Separation and learned so much. He does a great job of explaining things in a way you can really understand. He is always available to students and will give good career advice in addition to course advice. Also, if you like basketball, hes your guy! Seriously though, he is smart and funny and kind.

Comment:
Scattered, unclear, boring, unprepared. He has a decent understanding of most material but can't convey it to students. Horrible planning of exams and scheduling. His exams were also not at all a good representation of what was taught or covered in HW. He gave very poor descriptions of what would be covered on exams.

has in-depth knowledge but lacks proper skills to communicate with students. very unsteady in terms of mental mood stability and is prone to lash out on students. not very engaging and helpful with graduate students. no innovative ideas for research.
