Great professor! He has a passion for the subject. The reading helps on the scantron portion of the exams, and his lectures pertain to the essay portion of the exams. I would recommend him any day.

Funny and well educated man. Lectures are slightly redundant and boring. The material has a broad scope so nothing is too in depth. Midterms consist of a 5 page paper, a scantron test, and an in-class essay. It was a bit much but if you take notes, you get an A.

Very cool teacher and knowledgeable and friendly. I took the summer session and got an A. Had 3 tests and 1 paper. As long as you attended class you could pull off an A or B, including doing the paper. Doing a rough draft and handing it to him guarnteed full points on the paper which was worth a whole letter grade.

It was pretty much a kick back class during summer. Just attend class, write down everything he says and answer it when he gives you the study guide, it's very helpful. I think he's a great professor, he really knows what he's talking about. I had a 78% on 1st & 2nd midterm, turned in my 10 pp paper, & took the final and got a B+.

Dr. Pandian is a wonderful teacher, the class consists of a midterm, final, presentation and paper. Midterm and final are essays. He likes it when you take examples and put them in your essays. The Presentation is on an anthropologist. If you have questions you can get help during office hours. Highly Recommended!

Hard to understand lectures. Notes don't help at all. Lots of reading. Two tests, presentation, and a paper. There are participation points involved and it's hard to make comments in the class. Have to work hard for your grade.

He is a nice teacher very informative, he will help you if you have any questions. If you are a repub, you won't enjoy this class, that's why I enjoyed it! You have a presentation, a midterm and a final, and a paper to go along with your presentation. Fairly simple if you study.

Blames every evil in the world on Christians, not clear in lectures, tells you things are on the exam that aren't, ridiculous amount of reading, one paper for the course and everyone writes on the same ONE TOPIC--no choice, not open to new ideas, thinks he knows all, arrogant and difficult to understand! DO NOT TAKE! Ruins an interesting subject!

Comment:
Clear, independent thought is not welcome in this class. Dr. Pandian needs you to think exactly what he thinks; your grades suffer otherwise. He uses the class as a platform for his anti-evolutionary agenda, rather than a seminar where new thoughts and ideas are exchanged. For a graduate-level class, this is an absolute joke.

he is absolutely the most atrocious and arrogant professor I have ever been in contact. He is by no means a good lecturer, he demeans his students, and hates any form of logical conversation. He hides behind the walls of Cal State Fullerton because he cannot handle the reality of fieldwork.

Great subject and a great teacher. His lectures can be kind of boring and hard to follow because of his accent, but hey i took it over the summer. I didn't have to work hard for an A. Really opened my eyes to the field of Anthropology.

He is a very kind and knowledgeable professors. His exams are easy. The essays are graded leniently and generously. Don’t get intimated by the subject. As long as you have reasonable opinions on the subject, you’ll get good grades.

Don't believe the hype this guy is pretty hard!! Even though he has great stimulating lectures and true and false exams the hardest part was doing 5 essay questions at every test. The essay had to be at least more than a page long to get a decent grade. Also his book is boring and its really hard to understand.

Granted he is a very smart man, and is very nice and helpful. But this was a pretty hard class. You had to put a lot of work into it if you wanted a good grade. 2 midterms and a final consisting of 50 scantron and 5 essays (he required you write two pages each). Plus 30-75 pages a night of reading.. If you're looking for an easy GE don't take him.

Nice teacher. He's sometimes hard to understand...he says "uh" and "see, uh" A LOT! So if that would bug the heck out of you, don't take him. It bugged me for the first week, but I've learned to block it out, or else I'd lose what he's trying to say. Other than that, he's a smart guy and really enjoys anthro.
