I'm impressed by Professor Bednarz's deep, infectious love of Shakespeare. Not only Shakespeare, but as I was pleased to discover, Homer, Milton, Dante, Flaubert, Conrad, and even more great authors. I enjoyed participation. I love him as a professor and educator. Only thing is, he doesn't like Falstaff. I do.

Bednarz is always doing something unexpected. One day he will come in and tell the class that we are the smartest people he's ever met, other days he will come in and tell the class that we are horrible students and should be ashamed. Not even exaggerating sadly. The man is insane and has unwarranted flip outs- after taking one class I avoided him!

Absolutely amazing professor! Such a great personality! The course itself is pretty straightforward; assigned readings every lesson, you're expected to take notes. Two 2500 word essays +midterm and final. If you show interest, do the readings and have a good attitude, you'll definitely get a good grade!

It is pretty clear that this man lives, breathes, and sleeps literature---especially when it comes to Shakespeare. He is an extremely tough grader. English is one of my favorite subjects, but when I took it with Bednarz, it became my least favorite. His lectures are extremely long, and he does most of the work himself--so the students can zone-out.

The perfect professor and human being. His passion for literature, particularly Shakespeare, is contagious. You will not only leave his class with an unsurmountable understanding of the material, but also of the world we live in and your place in it. Keep your ears and mind open, and you will leave his class as a changed and better person.

The BEST Professor at Post. Period. He is the best part of my semester, even though my major is not English. Passionate, helpful, amazing, fun, and you really gain a passion for literature because of him. Taking him for as many classes as I can, and will continue to do so. He is so kind. I do not believe he is a hard grader, actually very easy...

I had Professor Bednarz as often as I could as an undergrad and now as a grad student. He is dynamic, engaging, fun, and passionate about literature. He is very kind but he expects your best, and will push you to be better. He wins (much deserved) teaching awards all the time. The kind of prof that inspires students to fall in love with literature.

Great Teacher! very willing to help with anything you don't understand. Class had 2 papers, midterm, and final. The midterm and final were 10 short answer questions and he told you a few of them before the test. He is really active, talks and writes quickly but happy to repeat. You can tell his passion for the material.

He made the novels extremely fun and engaging. The way he read Frankenstein with us was almost as if he were putting on a play. He always made me want to come to class, and it made writing the papers so much more enjoyable. He is great!
