As far as the fine art requirement goes, this is probably the best class to take. Extremely easy. No textbook. You do need to go to class to get attendance points, but no need to pay attention. You'll get frustrated if you try to learn. Just print off the study guides, match the pictures to the answers, and memorize for the test.

Very boring class! Although I think it would be better than the other fine arts cores (ie music appreciation). It's flat out memorization of the pictures.

The architecture pictures were interesting but the setup of the class is pretty boring. He seems like a nice guy though. All you will do in class everyday is look at a slideshow of architecture. Try to find people to study with. If you can devote hours to do the study guide and memorize the pictures before the tests you will get an easy A.

This class was pretty boring. What can you do, though? It is "Art" of architecture. If you need at least one art credit...this class is a hundred million times better than the other art credit classes. All you have to do is memorize. He definitely loves what he does and you can tell. I got out of there with almost a 100 average.

Class is very boring. You will view about 200 pictures per lecture. Attendance is mandatory and participation grades are taken each class. However, if you print off the study guides, complete them, and learn them well, you should do just fine. It's basically self taught. Mr. Burleson knows his stuff but is not easy to communicate with.

Very uninteresting class. You are expected to view around 200 pictures each class and regurgitate the information about specific pictures on the test. A ton of memorization is required and you will get nothing out of it.

Posts extremely helpful study guides for each test. Allowed the class to retake any test for a chance to improve our grade, and gave extra credit opportunities. Workload is fairly light with only two major assignments through the semester. Dr. Burleson was obviously very passionate about the field, and the quality of the course reflects this.

He is hilarious. A really weird guy but he means well and wants you to gain some interest in architecture. Its very hard to pay attention and class is mandatory but he takes participation which will help you in the end. Test can be very easy if you take the time to memorize the study guide which is exactly like the test. Not too hard of a class.

Ugh, this guy. Fist of all, cant understand anything when he talk, and cant understand anything when he telling you about projects due. Nobody knows what to do, so you just give a shot in the dark normally do okay. Tests are ALL memorization, so if you can do that, easy A, otherwise, donntt take this class. This guy is a weird bird.

First, I would like to say that his class has apparently changed A LOT since most of these comments have been posted, so check the date of what you're reading. Go to class, pay attention, and don't sleep all class and everything makes perfect sense and he's actually an interesting guy. He provides study guides for all tests and frequently emails.

Two words to describe this guy are harmless and clueless. He really doesn't connect with his students AT ALL, attendence is mandatory, and he plays slide, after slide, after slide, talking slowly, putting everyone in the dimly lit auditorium to sleep. He's not malicious but get ready to do a lot of memorization of pictures of houses.

Hard to know what he wants with the value questions. Just try to memorize what he has on the slides for them. Otherwise, tests are basically memorization. Match the architect to the work, to the time period, etc. Tests were anywhere from 70-115 questions. He had to curve each one. Also a few other easy assign's. Interesting course- I got an A.
