Cappel organizes the class relatively well. Usually a lecture and handout every day. Takes attendance for points almost every day. No homework, but a few group projects at the end of the semester. If you show up to class every day and take notes, you will get a B. If you participate in class and study for 1-2 hours for exams, you will get an A.

Never have I had such an unprofessional prof. He treats his students like 10-year-old children. Students, myself included, know not to answer questions because we know he hates helping students and he will do everything he can to not help. Extremely frustrated that I'm paying $1200 to sit through this garbage. Avoid at all cost. Very disrespectful.

Nice guy and lecture handouts are given to you at the beginning of class. His exams are heavily his in class material. He kind of goes by the book, but not really. It's more of a support to what he discusses in class. I would take BIS420 with him again. The group assignments are straight to the point and graded moderately. Attendance is mandatory!

Dr. Cappel is a really cool guy. As someone who isn't an IS major, the class was a little boring. If you come to class and put in the work, you will be fine. He is always willing to help.

Awful. Lectures are incredibly boring and half the time I didn't even know what to take notes on. He gives out LOTS of handouts which usually aren't helpful and become a pain to flip through when trying to look something up. Tests are hard to study for because it's unclear what you're even trying to learn.

Good intentions but thats were the good ends. Makes you buy a book that costs $200 and is written by one of his friends. The book sucks. He is rude to his students and will chase you down the hall for getting up to go to the bathroom. Crossword puzzles. Stuck in his own ways. Generally not respected by students or colleagues. Avoid him if you can.

This class is easy, but not very easy. He can be impatient and rude, like he does not know he gets paid 6 figures to teach us lol. His quizzes and tests are very straight forward, if you understand the chapters you should have no problems as far as grades go. He is a good guy despite his impatience.

In my experience, Cappel is a very rude, and closed minded professor. Many do not like him and I have gotten a clear impression that he is not liked even among his colleagues in the BIS department. Typical tenured idiot who knows everything. I would avoid.

Absolute worst professor I've had in my time here. Not friendly, not helpful and overall disrespectful. This isn't coming from someone bitter for having a poor grade, either. When you ask a question the only response is "look at the book/assignment" no clarity. Lets his ego get in the way of being a good professor.

Class itself it easy, all step by step out of the book. Come to class or work in the computer lab & you'll get an A. As a professor, this guy is a d-bag and totally useless. lectures about the same thing over and over. tried asking a simple question on what button to push & he made me go back to the beginning of the assignment & do every step over

He explains every step, and I mean EVERY step, when lecturing. He does goes out of his way to be available to help. He will sit one on one and explain things in a nice manner. He's also very understanding when it comes to missing due dates if you ask nicely! If you can get past his need to go over every detail, take this class! I learned a lot.
