I fairly recently retired as an educator and carefully thought back to all my teachers K-Grad school. I had some really great teachers but the one that kept coming back to me was James Carey. He would teach his classes with out notes and a textbook and his lectures were so interesting that you didn't want the classes to end. He truly cares!

Dr. Carey makes a large lecture theatre seem like a small intimate warm classroom. He cares for his students and encourages a love of learning by his topical lectures. He is a great proponent of lifelong learning and like the two previous commentators encouraged me also to become an educator!

THE PREVIOUS COMMENT IS ABSURD. DR. CAREY IS A GREAT PROF. HE IS VERY OPINIONATED, SOME OF HIS JOKES ARE BORDERLINE 'UNCUT', DURING HIS LESSONS HIS WAY IS "LAW" LOL. BUT OVERALL HE'S A WONDERFUL INSTRUCTOR I LEARNED A LOT.

It was a very enjoyable class. He has a good sense of humor and is very sarcastic. The class period goes by really fast because it is interesting. His tests are hard, but he gives you the answers before hand. Do the extra credit if you can - it helps.

Dr. Carey is hilarious. You have to understand and appreciate his personality. He uses good sarcasm and irony, but he truly cares about people. He teaches at a personal level, and he is very sincere. He has a strict attendence policy, but he tells you exactly what will be on the test.

He is RUDE and degrading to women. He gives you his definition of things but on the test you need to use the book definition. So the class notes are useless. Makes students feel dumb unless you're an A student. Over all he is a horrible old man and never take him unless you HAVE to!!!

Good Teacher! Difficult tests, but he tells you what will be on them! Go to class,do the papers, and study for the tests, and you should do just fine. He tries to funny at times. Says, "you(class)wouldn't understand/care how other people feel" like we have no compassion. can be irritating to most.
