Dr. Cox is a really nice guy who knows a lot about the material that he is teaching, but his class material is not the most exciting. Lots of the information and content he teaches with is very out of date. You have to come to class in order to get participation points. Best part of the class is that you don't need to purchase a textbook.

3 Assignments. 1 Simulation. 3 Tests. Assignments are easy, relate directly to his lecture (lecture is right out of book), and the textbook. If you need help, he is more than happy to help you if you come into office hours. Pretty straight forward class.

Nearly everything we learned was at least 10 years out of date. He curved all of the tests which helped a lot, but I would not take this class again. Did not learn much considering he has not updated his curriculum since the early 90's.

Marketing research? More like the history of marketing research. This is one of THE WORST teachers I have had at this school. Everything he teaches is completely out of date. I'm pretty sure we're learning things the same way my parents would've. His lectures are useless and confusing. I would rather take a class on Friday than a class with him.

Worst teacher I've ever had. Everything he teaches is out of date, he thinks his ways are better than the book, cocky, boring, project is ridiculous, unhelpful, and he rarely responds to email. If you have to take this class, take it with any other professor available.

Most boring teachers I've had. 100 percent powerpoint lectures. Refuses to deviate from book content at all. Will go through ever chapter word for word. Marketing should be very fun, yet somehow he has made this the class I dread. Complains a lot about not having a TA and new content so he cant get anything done in time. Tests curved but tough

I took Cox for MKT230 and found him to be easy and simple. My best advice for this class is to show up for every class and study for his exams by going over his PPT slides (his study guides are irrelevant, IMO).

Cox starts the semester as a really nice guy, but soon drives you crazy with his high workload and expectations. Doesnt understand the business world today and expects all powerpoints to have flashy transitions like a first grader would. The project itself teaches you quite a bit and was a great experience, I just wish I could have avoided Cox

Tests are not difficult, gives you study guide.Research is actually fun and working with your group is the best but it sucks when one group member doesnt do the work correctly. make sure you do everyday because he has a daily quiz(one question about something he talked about that day) he is very helpful if you need the help just GO SEE HIM!

Dr. Cox is a very knowledgable teacher. His class is difficult as you spend the whole semester doing a group project. However, if you don't procrastinate and ask him for help, it makes the project doable. Tests are not that bad if you use the study guide he provides

Pros: Nice guy, comes prepared to class, enjoys his job. Cons: Explains very little, skips over the most relevant/difficult topics casually and acts like they're no big deal, and assigns the single largest group project you will do in your entire time at ISU. The project is essentially a part-time job. Tests are hard, project due finals week.

If you have any interest at all in market research I promise he will ruin every last bit of it. He is the most boring man on this earth and is stuck a few decades back. If you want any up to date information in this class you won't get it, flat out just sucks

The marketing research project lasts the entire semester and you have to rely on not-so-helpful group members, but in the end I really learned a lot. You work with an actual company and is pretty much a mini-internship in market research.

This is quite possibly the worst class that I have taken at ISU. The teacher is one of the most boring, monotonous men on the face of the planet. I would walk in to the class, and want to blow my brains out the second that I saw him, because I knew that I would not have any idea what the hell he was talking about, nor would I care.Avoid this man!

Lectures are boring. Bring lots of caffeine. Attendance is 5% of your grade and he usually asks 1 or 2 questions at the end of each lecture which is what your attendance grade is based on. If you go to class and half-ass pay attention, the test shouldn't be to hard and you should get at least a "C".

very good guy who cares ALOT about students. this class gives you a new skill to put on your resume. lectures are ridiculously boring and there are participation points almost everyday so you have to go. no book just a $20 PIP packet. if sales forecasting interests you and you can handle the boredom, you should take this.

Boring, monotone, kinda clueless. He is a nice guy, but he is a bad professor. His test are long, questions poorly worded. Luckily he curves them. He had 4 text books (2 books, his notes and a CD) and they cost about $250. I got $15 when I sold them back.
