After being a Marine Recruiter for 3 years, I thought I knew it all when it came to Presentational Speaking. I was wrong. I learned a lot in Professor Anderson's class. The thing I admired the most is she will hold your feet to the fire. I truly believe that if you take her class, you'll leave the class prepared for the workforce post college.

Starla is by far the best professor I have ever had at APU. She genuinely cares about her students and wants to see them succeed. The things that she teaches you over the course of a semester are lessons that you will truly value for the rest of your life. I would take her course 100 more times if I had to.

Professor Anderson was AMAZING and I learned a lot in her class! She really helped me learn how to deal with conflict in various situations. I also got to talk with her outside of class and she is truly a wonderful person.

Starla is an amazing professor. She has a lot of knowledge on this topic and is very passionate about it. I was very interested in conflict management and I was excited to have her again. At first it may seem like a lot of work but it is not bad at all and it's really spread out. Take this class!

She is very nice, but EXTREMELY detailed. We have to put in a lot of extra work into our speeches in order to make them earn an A, and she would mark us down on small details that usually go unnoticed. The class is a lot of fun and supports each other. Lots of tests and assignments. Take her if you have the time.

Best teacher I've had in four years of college so far. I have had her for multiple semesters and her classes have been the most enjoyable. She is not an easy grader, you get the grade you deserve. If you are looking for an easy A this is not the class for you, but if you actually want your moneys worth and want to learn something take her class.

She was my favorite teacher last semester!! like the comment below, our class got super close and it was an encouraging environment to be in! She had us do 4-5 speeches. We also did an "improv" situation in class... which was fun! We had 4 tests and a final (super easy final).Her story is amazing! I loved taking her class and HIGHLY RECCOMEND it!!

Although she grades the outlines pretty difficult, I really enjoyed her class. Our class is super close and she really incorporates Christianity into the classroom. She grades the outlines hard but she's there for help. Doesn't grade the speeches too hard if you prepare. . Do the work and you will get a good grade and tests are open notes!!!

Exams are open note and really easy. Speeches are graded very strictly, but if you put in the preparation work it will pay off. Classes involve lots of impromptu speaking. Anderson is very knowledgeable and credible. She knows her stuff, and will help you improve your public speaking.

Mrs. Anderson is a great professor. Media Law and Ethics could get a little boring at times, but she did her best to make the topic relevant to what we would be doing in our jobs some day. Two tests, but she gives helpful study guides. One big paper and one small paper. Overall, not a bad class.

AWFUL. The way she grades outlines and the speeches makes no sense. Do not take her. She acts like she cares about your grade and like she's so fair, but she's not. She also inserts her political views way to much. And you can tell when you give a speech that she does not agree with or view as "christian" enough.
