He is a good Prof if you like the topic, but might seem a little overboard to people who do not enjoy geology. Has a lot of test and some of them are hard without some extra study. I would take classes form him again but if your not into geology then avoid.

Comment:
Class was taught terribly. Prof cancelled class twice, and then tried to jam a lot of material into last two class periods so that he could test us on it for the final. Very disappointing class. Tries to cover too. Got tired of hearing about how global warming is not the fault of humans. Also, required to purchase books that were never used.

Comment:
Awful course. Started off well enough, but he lost enthusiasm about halfway through and phoned it in. Very little enthusiasm, amount of material is ridiculous for credit hours. I quite like geology and was bored to tears by this course. And his constant political references and rants got old quickly. Avoid at all costs.

Aweful! Treats the class as if it is the only class you have. He thinks it should be a 5 unit course. Do not take this man for historical geology. Dont buy the book for his field trip it is just to support his retired friend so they can go out to lunch together I never opened it. Overall he has been the worst professor I have had at metro.

This man is opinionated and a tough professor, but I learned enough from this course to change my major from biology to land use geology! Geology is now my passion and Dr. Cronoble was the one who ignited it with his passionate approach to the subject and willingness to spend individual time with students if necessary. Best Prof!

Very poor class overall. Definitely plays favorites and is proud of it. The field trip is a joke and a waste of time, we actually stopped in a parking lot to look at the gravel. Cronoble is very right wing in his thoughts and you will here about it, and are quizzed on his bias opinions! Avoid him there are much better geology teachers out there.

Hard but fair, gives you everything you need to do well in his class. The study guides he gives for every chapter are very helpful for the tests. one of the toughest yet best professors I have ever had.

Chose favorites in class that he helped, everyone else was left in the dark. He treated an intro class like a grad class, since there were three grad students in it, as well as being cross listed as 1000/3000 level. Would not respond to my e-mails for four months, course material did not appear on the test! AVOID HIM LIKE A PLAGUE!

Test are challeging, If you stay on top of the material and show up for class you'll be fine. Great guy though and he really has passion for the subject. Feild trip is a nice day out of the classroom and if you show up and participate I believe he notices good effort! Material lots of lecture and memorizing. Good course and good teacher.

If you bothered to study you did well in his class. I had to take this class to teach science and wasn't excited about it, but when I was done I was glad I took it. He knows his stuff and the field trip was great! He isn't boring and I find that anyone who doesn't do well in his class was lazy!
