If you like teaching yourself this guy is for you. He gives assessments before he teaches the content in class. So you have to know the material already before you go in and hopefully you master it because you can't get all those points later.

Groff is a good teacher and very knowledgable, he tends to get lost in the lectures sometimes which can be frustrating because accounting is tough. Luckily there are lots of practice problems online and but he will not hand you the grade so dont slack off! Attendance is mandatory and projects are given before tests

Challenging class, requires a lot of outside practice and studying. He is a humorous teacher, tries to explain thoroughly but if he can't he blows it off. Did not like that he used a different teachers lesson plans and didn't know much about how they worked or what they covered. online quizzes are bad, time limit and open end answers, not MC.

Took him over the Summer for AIS and had him again this semester for another class. His classes are hard work but anyone who gives him a bad review is probably just lazy. He is always available to help as long as you show you are willing to work for your grade. He has an odd sense of humor but he's really not bad. Will take him again in the future.

I took a number of classes from Dr. Groff back in 1992 both undergraduate and graduate. In UNcost acc went into the final with a A+ came out with final grade of B+ Made D on final - final had most questions from CPA exam as I later found out. Went to see him about this, and he left test to review but was a no show for our meeting! Sad very sad.

I think the guy was a good teacher. You can't expect all college teachers to hand feed you the answers and test material. He expects you to study on your own, go over the problems from class, study them and being able to get the concept down, and be prepared for class. Any bad comment on this guy is due to a students inability to study correctly

He belittles you, he veers off subject, is consistenly unprepared, He copies the powerpoint from other books, he isn't compassionate for students, he will let you know its somewhat of a burden to him when you visit during office hours. He said he was a teacher because he couldn't make it in the real world. Test are hard.

Avoid. I had him online and he doesn't seem to know how to use the online system. It's very hard to get feedback from him and he can be condescending. I had lots of assignments either never returned or returned without feedback even after asking repeatedly. I think "this is not available" are his favorite words, if you even get any.

Not rec'd. G is funny, personable guy, but he is unsuited for teach. He tends to belittle students, occasionally dismissing student q's as "too silly to answer". He is slow to return assignments, often so slow that you can't learn to do the next. He often is not clear on what he wants and than belittles you for not reading his mind. Avoid.

WARNING, Dont take this guy. He clearly doesnt enjoy teaching. He never narrows down the material and will give study guides here and there that dont relate to the exam. I just took the final and failed badly. He didnt even cover half the material on the final. Does a bad job with explaining the material! Avoid if possible!

He is completely worthless at explaining anything, and very confusing. However he's a decent guy and gives a couple of extra points here and there. His tests aren't that hard, just really long. The 1st is VERY easy, but the 2nd is a nightmare, 3rd is in btwn. Read the book, do the exercises and u'll be fine. If u're lazy, don't take this class.

He is a HORRIBLE teacher. I remembered a lot from Prin II and he actually managed 2 confuse me at times. He takes roll so U HAVE to go 2 class. There's no HM, only a couple of excel projects & Quizzes. His tests aren't too bad, I got 100 on the 1st one but only 'cuz I learned independently. If U need a lot of explanation to learn DO NOT TAKE HIM.

Well I can't speak for those that took the cost class, but I enjoyed him for ACC II. If you can, stay away from the other professors who teach ACCI & II. Take Groff if you can. As far as upper division, well...decide for yourself.
