Judge is a very easy going and laid back guy. The class consisted of five papers and one speech, all the papers where about 15% of the overall grade. Take the e-portfolio seriously and he'll make sure your overall grade is appropriate. You can only miss 3 classes otherwise it starts to impact your grade.

Judge is a great and funny guy. If you want a class where you don't want to fall asleep every time you go to class, which you have to do as the English department only allows five absences, he's the man for you. The class isn't any harder than any other English class you've ever taken, you should know what to expect. Good feedback and fair grading.

Professor Judge was easily my favorite professor I've had so far at Iowa State. He is easy to listen to, interesting, and hilarious. He is very accommodating and caring, and will help you if you have a special situation. I highly recommend him as an english professor.

I really enjoyed Dr. James teaching style as well as personality. He's a well respected man and has been doing this for a long time and still has enthusiasm. Definitely my favorite professor thus far.

James is a professor who obviously loves his job. He is very passionate about all the work we do in class, although a lot of it doesn't directly relate to what our current project is. He assigns 5 large paperspresentations throughout the semester, but is kind of a tough grader. As long as you show up to class and turn in your work, you'll be fine

Super laid back professor, and hilarious. Loved having him as a professor but you'll never get an A unless you're absolutely do a phenomenal job on your papers. Regardless, B was what majority of people in the class got or below.

Judge is hilarious, he's the most precious old man ever! Everyone loves Judge, make sure you meet with him! He's super nice about meeting with students and his advice is always helpful....he's a tough grader so this is important. He tends to ramble sometimes but just be nice to him...he's so cute.

He is very unorganized, very crazy and very unhelpful. I had an hour and 30 min class with him and he never had a clue what he was talking about he just talked to himself randomly. . . Would not recommend taking his class at all. . . .

I am in love with JJ! He is seriously the best and our class simply loved him. He really tries to be helpful but is sort of a difficult grader, and by this i still mean I got an A, so not too harsh. DO NOT GET THE BOOKS!! Borrow if you have to, but usually you dont talk about the articles- if you do just make something up and give your point of vie
