Jim is the man. Seriously take this class it will change your experience at Tufts completely. His tests aren't hard and not getting an A is truly difficult. An unbelievable amount of respect for this guy. He really cares and tries to teach you as much as he can. Amazing class can't wait for ASL 2

Excellent class; he is genuinely concerned that all his students fully understand everything he teaches. His midterm and final are both really easy, and the subject is very different and fun.

A nice easy class. He's very clear and easy to understand and is always willing to clarify any questions you have. Beware though at the end of every semester he goes into "panic mode" because the end of the course is nearing and tries to teach everything at once.

Fun course but you really can't afford to miss a class. He's a great lecturer and a pretty funny guy - but you do need to pay attention to catch it all. Hardly any assignments, easy tests - a nice way to break up your schedule.

Nice guy, but one class a week of ASL is not enough to learn the language. Two tests (midterm and final) are rather obscure, but there is no other work. Class is fun and interesting.
