Professor D is probably one of the worst professors I have ever had. I do not recommend him at all. He makes his course hard for no reason and his protocols are illogical. Stresses about time management and organization skills then shows up late and unprepared for every class.

Dr. Dolhon is extremely unorganized and has horrible time management issues. Lectures would always run longs. In addition, the textbook is not necessary. Lastly, his feedback on performances is very unclear and unhelpful.

Comment:

This course was one of those courses that makes you think, and it's a good thing. He loves using collaborative testing experiences so the students can feed off each other. However, you need your textbook for every class and take notes, which help a lot when it comes to the exams. With that said, the final was easy and it feels worth it in the end.

talks WAAAAYY too much, and not about anything relevant. is incredibly unclear about what he wants, and is rude when asked questions or asked to be more clear. literally never makes any sense and his grading system is impossible to understand. Class itself is easy, but he makes is hard for no reason.

He's very critical of tiny errors, but he won't tell you how to correct yourself. He keeps the class late everyday by at least five minutes because he goes off topic so much that he spends most of the time rambling about silly stuff. His instructions are hardly clear and makes a fuss when someone asks him to clarify. Major waste of time and money.

He's the most ignorant professor I've ever had! I wouldn't wish this professor upon my worst enemy. He is rude, obnoxious, and has a nonsense grading rubric. Class is mandatory. He calls you out in front of everyone for skipping, not performing speeches to his standards, etc. He made me dread his class. DO NOT TAKE

He never shuts up. He always talks about the same thing over and over again. He is loud and rude. I dread going to class and he often picks on people and thinks its a joke. If you disagree with him you will get on his bad side. He grades ridiculously hard.

He is nice to you if he likes you and if not he can be mean.As long as you show up to class and present on time he will like you, if not your in trouble.He is a VERY hard grader you would think he is judging you on you giving a Pulitzer speech.He talks a lot, most days for the entire class period, and your almost never out of class on time.

Very loud and rude at times. He sees his way as the only way and will not clear you on your speech proposals for ridiculous reasons. Very repetitive and it can get quite annoying. I honestly dreaded going to that class. He's a tough grader and he thinks way too highly of himself. Will tell you stories from his life that are irrelevant to class.

Had Prof. Dolhon (Dr. D) back in Spring 2008 for the Core Speech class. Very eccentric in his presentation style. Hard on grading. Incorporated ornithology into his demo speeches ALOT. Had the name, "Mohawk-Cup-A-Joe-Joe" for one of my friends (who had a mohawk). Did keep our class late for much of the semester. Just gotta put up with him...

Not very easy for a mandatory class that everybody has to take. Takes minor issues too seriously and definitely runs class right to the end and sometimes longer. If you actually try hard, and he expects everyone to do so, you should pull off an A or B.

I have always been a horrible public speaker and I have to give Dr. Dolhon credit, his class did make me a better speaker, however, he talks... A LOT, repeats himself non stop, gives out too many of the same hand outs, and holds class longer than it's scheduled to be. Don't take him if you're not willing to do work.

Although I dreaded his class, Dolhon honestly did make me a much better speaker. His grading was often frustrating, but he does rip improvement out of you. Don't bother reading the textbook, just focus on preparing for your speeches. On a side note, Dolhon's also a blast to talk with outside of class if you like the NFL.

Very animated and excited about his topic. Hard grader on the presentations - Do not expect an easy "A." A great teacher for the subject of oral communications. Did have the tendency to run class over by 10-15 minutes - 75 minutes quickly turned into 85-90 minutes on several occasions.

I hated him,his class, and his teaching methods.For the second test,I asked if I could take it another day because my mom was having surgery the same day as the test, he said "sure,no problem."When I got the test back he took off 15 pts off because I didn't take the exam the day it was scheduled for! I guess his exams have to come before family.

I absolutely could not stand going to this class. He thinks he is being helpful and funny, but makes students feel like they are incompetent. He openly makes fun of/picks on students during class, & is too theatrical,!it was amusing at first,then became really old! He the only prof @ kings i didnt like! I learned NOTHING in core 100 with him!
