Good professor if you consider how other higher level physics professors are like. Does example problems in lectures and sometimes does small pop quizzes that can usually be done in groups. Grading criteria for labs was kinda hard to know but the labs themselves were doable and sometimes fun. Exams were long but had some problems similar to quizzes

I was in a GH Science of the Invisible class for him. He's really picky about the journal entries, always says you have to go more into depth and put more thoughtfulness in it. It's a S/U class, so it's easy to pass. Just be prepared to do a lot of reading and print them out. He loves to kill trees, apparently.

Tests can be difficult and require the full hour to complete, but they are based largely off previous quizzes and are graded on a large curve. There is a lot of homework, but Dr. Rabchuk is extremely helpful at his office hours and is a very pleasant person all around. If you can pass this class, you'll do well in any science-related field.

If you show your work and get the correct answer, you get the points. That simple. Demonstrations make lectures very interesting. Attendance not mandatory. Your grade is completely dependent on how much time you choose to put into the work.

Comment:
Physics II is taught in much the same way as Physics I. The material is more difficult for most people, which is why people should seek help more often. Some of the demonstrations are really cool, which makes the class more interesting. Be sure to keep up with all of the homework, especially with electric fields.

It really helps to take an interest in the material, which Dr. Rabchuk tries to get students to do through the use of demonstrations. The homework, which is done on paper and online, often requires going to the tutors. The exams are not easy, which is why you need to study well. The labs are an easy way to gain a lot of points.

He's definitely an entertaining teacher. However he does tend to make the material seem harder than it is. Go to class, read ahead in the book, and go to the tutors and you'll be fine.

Rabchuk is a really great guy. His teaching..not so great. Be prepared to do lots and lots of homework. Online homework and turn in homework. Tests are extremely hard, but he curves them. They are so hard that even after he curves them everyone still fails. Labs are easy. Just hope you are naturally great at physics or you will have a rough time.

Very nice guy. Always ready to help. Test are insane and don't always represent material covered well, but if you do the homework and get most of the points on the labs you can get an A easily. Make sure you get the class notes from lecture though or you'll be lost.

HARD class. There is a lot of hw, and tests have a strong curve since they're so hard (ie 50% could be a C). Rabchuk is the nicest guy you'll ever meet, but he's constantly changing assignments, and some of the hw problems don't seem to go along w/lectures. Don't take this class unless you're a total physics geek, or it's required for your major

The lectures in this class are collosally boring. I'm talking killmyself boring. There are a ton of homework to try to do, if you do it. His exams are not good and do not cover what he talks about. Surely they can find someone better to teach this required course.

Great guy...very willing to help...the class is tough if you aren't a physics major, but as long as you do the homework and labs you shouldn't get lower than a B in the class.

I had him all year. I enjoyed him in 197, but he went way downhill for 198. He doens't know what he's doing. He is very flakey about assignments. His online homework problems are very easy, but then his tests are damn near impossible. Nice and occasionally funny guy, but bad teacher.

You couldn't find a nicer guy to teach the class but it's a total pain in the @ss. Lots of homework, quizzes are hard, and the tests are impossible. He's perfectly willing to help but he can only do so much.
