Professor Rawlins is a great professor. The course material itself was boring, but that is how all ENG102 classes are. He was the first professor I have had that was able to coherently explain how to analyze poems and stories easily. As long as you do the papers and read occasionally you will pass this class.

Although he is close to retirement, he is an amazing teacher. He is very active and made me a better writer than I ever thought I could be. He tells many stories and will help you keep good grades as long as you talk to him and show him that you care.

Rawlins is a good guy. He's kind of a hipster-y type with rolled up button up shirts and thick rimmed glasses. His class is pretty easy. You write something everyday (usually a paragraph, essay, or grammar work) and get to leave when you finish (which most of the time is early). There's not a lot of homework, most of it is in class.

He is a GREAT proff! he is tough but fair and lets you re-do all of your papers to improve your grade, i am def going to take him for eng 2....ended up getting a A but worked hard to get it and he saw that...def recommend! oh, and i really learned a lot from his class..he made me a better writer for sure!!

Jim Rawlins was a great english teacher because he showed you exactly what you did wrong on an essay and let you correct the mistakes. Correcting mistakes truly made me learn better. Overall he was a great teacher.. Really patient and flexible. He is quite passionate about literature and writing. Take him!

I loved his Comp 2 class! I know that he asked a lot from us but his methods did make me a better writer and that is what you want from a class. I think anyone who gave poor rating did not put in the time or effort he asked for. I gave his class my allt ,hat's all he asked us for and I got the grade I deserved. Great Class!!

Great guy. I breezed through the class, and often found myself to be the first one done. Let us leave early on a regular basis. EXTREMELY clear on what he wants done. Fair grader and will let you re-write. has a "good writers have good editors" philosophy. I would definitely recommend him.
