Jim Reed was hilarious! Tests were exactly like the study guide, and the essays you get to do are super simple. It isn't a boring class either, he constantly nags at students to participate and is always full of excitement. Do not be on your phone though, he hates that.

James Reed is the best professor ever, he is funny, so you can't get distracted. He gives study guides for the quizzes and exams. And if you listen to him carefully, you will find him answering all the questions in the study guides. He is very smart and very educated. it will not be just a class that you take, it will be a very nice experience.

For the students posting below that he was "unclear" is probable because the did't relize this is a 200 course and not a 100 course. In com this Means that the teacher expects you to read the chapters before classes as he stated. Then the class time is relavent.

Dr. Reed has a tremendous amount of knowledge, but has a tendancy to get easily sidetracked. His writing assignments encourage you to think deeply about yourself and your views of others but he is fair with his grading. He gives an online (openbook) quiz on each chapter. His midterm and final are similar to the quizzes & we had a final study guide.

I'm a bit torn how to rate him.On one hand he's a very nice man.On the other, he can be unprofessional.The class is painfully basic and common sense.I hated going to class because I felt like I was losing brain cells.He was earnest though, even if inappropriate at times. He does care about his students. He also cares too much about acting "cool."

DR Reed is the best teacher! I changed my major because of him and his teaching. His class is time consuming but it is fun and while in class you will have a blast he will make you laugh while keeping you on your toes...I recommend this to ALL communication majors or if you need a diversity class. Put in the work you will get an A like I did :) :)
