Lectures (if he even gives one) are only somewhat related to what's on the exam and he takes a lot from the textbook; lots of in-class group projects and he keeps track of who is there

Lectures contain little to no substance. One unit he lectured once and we watched movies the rest of the time.

He's very different than any other teacher I have had a WashU. We definitely had some really interesting discussions. Take the class if you are interested in the subject. The tests are very specific, but don't require much thinking as long as you memorize the material. He boosts your grade a ton if you do all the papers and participate.

Hilarious in classroom, but has little connection to what we are supposed to know for his multiple-choice exams. yes there are 3 exams through out the course and nothing else.. you need to attend the class and participate in group discussions and such but compare to few other psych courses, this course is chill! however, get ready to read the text.

Reid's class was pretty boring--he reads straight from the slides and doesn't offer alternates to his own opinions. That being said, we did do some group project/skit things that were kind of fun, and he's a genuinely nice guy outside of class (he's my advisor). My biggest peeve: he thinks he's HILARIOUS & constantly cracks painfully unfunny jokes

Reid is a Freudian hack; he presents various theories as having no evidence but then goes on a very detailed description of the Oedipal Complex without saying Freud had no evidence either. Further, he discredited neuroimaging by saying that the brain is full of "little blobs, how can they tell whats smaller or larger?" Reid is WashU's wosrt.

He kept the subject matter interesting, and made class pretty entertaining. The class was easy, if you read what was assigned and did the projects.

There are some teachers that give very difficult tests, and you're still satisfied with the class because you learned so much. Then there are teachers that aren't very entertaining, but the class is a GPA booster, so you're not too worried. Then there's this guy. Class sucks and his tests concentrate of tiny details that don't test understanding.

Prof. Reid hardly does anything but teach straight from the book, so class is pretty boring. The material is not difficult, but the tests can be very specific. He also has some ridiculous grading policies, like taking points off of the test scores of EVERY person in the class if one person's cell phone rings.

Let's keep it objective, so here are the facts. Prof Reid's exams are straight from the book. You basically have to memorize the book, which sucks and is why his class is hard. BUT, he is an entertaining prof, and is readily avail during office hours. Gives lots of bonus opps which make grading more than fair, so do them all and you'll do fine.

Very entertaining lecturer- I liked him in class, although he wasn't interested in talking to students outside class- took him for multiple courses, and they overlapped a lot- more than they should have

Terrible class. Reid is the WORST Psych teacher WashU has. He rambles in class, his tests are very specific and difficult. His lectures are boring and have very little to do with the tests. He is always conveinently unavailable when you really need to talk to him.

ADOLESCENT PSYCH-- Bad management of time, really stupid fastidious tests, and generally was just a jerk all semester. Didn't learn anything from him, and actively avoided him the rest of my college career.

subpar teacher for what should have been an interesting class. lectures and tests were literally straight out of the book. he didnt go over much of the material on the tests which ended up asking for way too much useless and narrow information.

Interesting, fun, easy course. Nothing you won't learn in a Queer Theory class. He does come across as biased, but you can overlook that. Class was mostly lecture, 1 group presentation (with paper) based on a book from the syllabus, 3 tests, and a couple of additional papers.

dr. reid teaches a whacky, incoherent, and extreme lgbt identity theory class. the readings are pop-culture crap.he also relies on useless in-class movies that range from mildly uninteresting to downright ****graphic. I was nauseated, and I'm gay!Dr. Reid unwittingly works against a noble cause.

animated professor, but I learned NOTHING in his class. Like everyone else has said, he just reads the lecture slides that come WITH the textbook-and then tests on completley random things. Most of the questions aren't even logically formed and full of typos. Do not take this class.
