This was the one class I took with this pompous man. I had already studied the same coursework in my Christian high school. My spouse got a Biblical Studies degree without taking any classes from Soto, and then went on to get a fully-funded Ph.D. in theology a nationally ranked program. Soto didn't have anything rigorous or academic to teach.

All assignments were graded in a non-timely manner. I never knew what he wanted because I couldn't look at my previous assignments for notes. This class was super repetitive in it's assignments so it would have been nice to know how I could improve by looking t my grades.

It's true that the class is very difficult, but it is an upper level class. The professor, while he may seem close minded, is not close minded. He's wrestled with the same things he expects his students to do in the course. It was great to be challenged and charged to decide for myself on the topics/doctrines even if it wasn't always enjoyable.

Not a good experience. Very opinionated prof - made it hard to learn if you disagreed with him about ANYTHING (major or minor). Refers to Santa Claus as Satan Claus for example...

Had Dr.Soto for EDT. Quite a bit of work, but very good class. Dr. Soto came across as scary, but as class went on saw that was not as true as I thought.
