Pretty straight forward guy! Make sure you do the homework assignments ACCURATELY, you can lose point for any little thing! The tests are not clear, there is no good way to study for them, I guess most of the questions you just have to be knowledgeable about the topic. He's not bad, simple grader.

Ryder is an awesome professor who presents materials clearly. He can be a tough grader but that kind of pushes you to learn better. If you are a good programmer you will do fine in this class, even if you aren't a good test taker. Overall, highly recommend him!

Ryder is a great professor. Really knows his stuff. Classes are mostly project based, but the projects are doable if you pay attention and get help when you need it. Keeps class interesting with stories from IBM. Very specific project guidelines.

Assignments make up a majority of your grade but instructions are pretty straight-forward & detailed. If you put in the effort & double-check your work, you should be fine. I didn't know anything about computers before I went into this class & still managed an A. I liked his "joke of the week"; super cheesy & terrible but that's what made it funny.

He has strict guidelines on how and what to hand in for assignments. Lectures can get dull, but lightens up with the occasional joke or story. Material is fairly difficult and work load is fairly high. If you pay attention and spend time on the assignments, you can usually get them done well.

He is not helpful at all & is kind of a jerk if you ask him for help. His instruction can be confusing at times. I learned how to program by screwing up so many times that I learned from my mistakes. His lectures will put you to sleep. If you put in the effort, it is an easy A. 9 Programs, 2 Exams, & 1 Final. Class in a nutshell.

Really tries to make sure you understand the concepts. Is very approachable; as long as you come to him when you need help, he'll try to make time for you. His lectures can get a little dull but it's because he explains things in great detail. Make sure you study for the tests because they can require code. He's a stickler for formatting.

If you have to take this class definitly take it with him. It's extremly easy. If you do the labs ahead of time he lets you hand them in and leave and you don't have to stay the whole lab time! Some of the test questions are a little tricky but other then that you should be in okay shape for a good grade in the class. VERY VERY easy!

Boring at first, simple labs, good guy who is knowledgable. Tests are kinda tricky so study but over all very easy cause he weights HW as much as exams. Night class only takes like an hour def a plus. Recommend it!
