The lectures were LONGGG. He brings his personal beliefs into the classroom on a daily basis and is very pushy. We read a chapter or two of the book per week and were quizzes on It. Class did not go along with the book a lot of the time. Tests were NOTHING like what was in the lectures or book. But he posts all PowerPoints on blackboard.

This online class was ridiculous! I have always found Anthropology to be very interesting but this professor did nothing to keep that thought alive. The quizzes were almost impossible. If you think you can answer 15 obscure questions drawn from the bowels of the book in under 8 minutes or 50 questions and two essays in under 50 minutes go for it.

I was interested in Anthro. Then I took Dr. S. He made the subject material incredibly dry, and his lack of clarity did me no favors either. Also be ready to read, A LOT, then take a quiz on it, and only after you've done that, have him go over the material in class. Very Backward. Take the other Anthro prof, cause this guy will do you no favors.

This class is very difficult and he does not make it any easier. There are random chapter reading quizzes from the textbook. There are only 3 tests. He adds the PowerPoint lectures to blackboard a few days before the tests. Most of the information is hard to pronounce. I do not recommend any one to take this teacher or class.

There are 10 quizzes throughout the semester and 3 tests. Each of them is times on Lock Down Browser, but he does not give you enough time to take it. I would not recommend him.

The class was alright, you just have to be really interested in it. You have to read a chapter before almost every class for a quiz so the book is a must have.

His lectures usually last the entire hour of class and he can talk forever. Sometimes stays on one slide for nearly 10, 15 min. However, listen to what he says and take notes on key things. 2 tests and then the final. Many quizzes that add up as a test grade in the end so reading is essential. I probably would've gotten a B if I had studied more.

He's a great teacher! Most don't see that because they don't show up for class. He'll help you if you come to class. Do the readings. He drops your lowest two quizzes. Don't fall asleep & turn your phone off. Taking him for Cultural Anthro!

I took AN224 hoping it was on culture. All we discuss is evolution. He rambles, is boring, and kills us with powerpoints. The quizzes are t/f, the tests are essay/multiple choice but cover way too much. I don't recommend him at all.

His specialty is cultural anthro, so he enjoys teaching it. Pay attention and don't ask stupid questions. If you're unsure of something, discuss it with him after class. He's very insightful and will help anyone that actually comes to class. Be sure to do the assigned readings! Take notes of everything he says and writes down! It will be on the exam

Just your typical Intro class.. He covers a lot of material in the semester. He can come off as a jerk in this class, as he feels he is dealing with 'children' who can't make their mind up and are taking him for easy points. you have to read and attendance is mandatory. If you are attentive, he'll help you! I LOVED him!!

He is a good teacher but he rambles on and on and on...and be SURE to read your chapters cause those quizzes can bring your grade down if you fail too many. He's an okay teacher.

He's a pretty fun guy. If you go into the class without a lot of prior knowledge of anthropology, you'll be doing lots of reading, though. An average chapter in our book was over twenty pages, but all of our quizzes were straight from the book. He also drops your two lowest quiz scores.

Reading the chapters in this class is a MUST. Most of the time you don't know whether you need to write down what he's saying or if he's just rambling (which happens pretty often) I was lucky to make it out with a C.

He's a bit "middle of the road" with me. He does not have a bad personality but he is sporatic, which will get on your nerves if you are highly organized. Quizzes are straight out of the book, just remember the chapter you were supposed to read;tests are mixed (book and class notes, with essay)so study and you'll do fine!

Taking his online course. It's an easy class, and the instructor is VERY knowledgeable, I just can't help but think all I'm paying for is a $700+ textbook and some notes. Have emailed him 5 times now for various reasons: quiz results/etc. No interest on his part to respond. That is NOT how to teach an online class. Discussion is EVERYTHING!

A great, all-around nice guy. His tests are easy, he gives quizzes to help you boost your grades, and he doesn't grade you on his opinion. Why can't we have more professors like this?

Don't take this class online! It was the hardest online class that I have ever taken. Unclear subject matter and difficult test. I wnt to him for help half way through the semester and he talked to me like I was an idiot and offered no help. I ended up making a "D" when he told me that my grade looked to be a high "C" or low "B". Be careful.
