I took the hybrid class where you watched the modules and did all the learning by yourself, and came to class once a week to watch a movie. The modules were really annoying and all the reading was extremely time consuming. However, it was an easy A. Lots of extra credit opportunities but you have to do the modules and be responsible for this class.

This class says that it is 75% online and 25% in class. But really all the learning is online and All you do in class is watch a movie and then do a worksheet. Thompson does not teach at all. there is alot of points offered though. Must go to all classes. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS REQUIRED!

Worst professor I've ever had. This class is horrible. Do not take him! He says you don't have to go to class but you do, each time. Hours of online work each week then in class for almost the full time each session. All you do in class is watch movies that don't help at all.

One of the worst teachers I've had since being here. Doesn't teach at all, only watch a movie and answer a worksheet. Do not take this class unless you have too. Not one educational thing has come out of his mouth this semester. It seems like he has no idea what he is doing. Good luck.

A lot of the grades for this teacher are kind of overblown. The class is once a week where all we do is watch a movie, fill out five question, and leave. Most of the class is online. I'll tell you now Thompson teaches you nothing. It is literally you listen to his recordings and he goes over nothing in class. You are completely on your own in here.

Took the hybrid course and didn't have to go to class every week. Watched movies when in class and never stayed the entire time. Watch modules and take notes and you should do fine on tests. Make sure you do discussions because they can hurt your grade if you don't. Book isn't really necessary for tests. I would recommend taking this course

Took the hybrid class. It is incredibly easy and you only have to go to class about 1/3 of the semester and you are never there for the full 3 hours. It is a great class and I hear he is way better than Manigold. Listening to the Modules and taking notes on his study guides is advisable.

I took the online hybrid and it was great! I've taken many online classes & this was the most well-organized I've taken. His online videos are very good & more clear than the textbook at times, but the textbook is good too. In class he is helpful & answers questions well. Always organized & on task. He knows his stuff.

The nicest man at ISU. He is very knowledgeable about special education and will try and help you if you are having troubles. I learned so much in this course, and he was very kind to me when I had a family problem.

Im pretty sure this guy teaches an online class but gets paid as a full time teacher. its not listed as an online class if i would have known i would not have taken it because its hard to motivate yourself to watch the videos. all you need to do is all the Discussion questions and get 60s on the tests to get a B. so its kind of a joke

Loved Professor Thompson! He is very sweet. I took his class online & learned so much from his class. Kind of difficult to listen to because he is monotone but he really has a lot to say! He's also very helpful. Definitely suggest him but if you take it online don't assume it's a blow off class- you still have to work for your grade.

Had to take Special Education for my El Ed major and he was a great instructor for it. He has a lot of passion for teaching Sp Ed. He is very nice and accomodates for special services very well. As long as you watch the online videos, review the powerpoint slides, and skim through the chapters, you should get a good grade on the tests.
