prof. verinis hasn't taught in new paltz since 2003, he's not a historian, and it was his first teaching job. he now teaches anthropology (his field) at st. john's. i took his language and culture class. REALLY interesting. really intuitive and helpful guy.

he tries thats all I can say. In class I often felt sorry for him and wanted to help him out. He is very, very inexperienced. I think if he had more confidence and just gained some more experience he'll be fine. Poor guy :-(

Professor Verinis seems like a nice person. However, his teaching style and methods could use some improving. He tends to jump around from topic to topic during lectures and is often unsure about the material he is teaching.

He's a nice guy, and helpful, but doesn't know what he's teaching. Studied anthropology, not history. He doesn't know any more than you do. Don't take Modern World with him. You'd do okay, he's not hard, but it's frustrating when he doesn't know the material at all.

James Verinis is a really cool guy, not the best teacher though. He's inexperienced, that's all. He's an easy grader, yet a very unorganized teacher. I liked him though, and i think he's cute. haaaa

The very nature of Modern world is too broad, i mean hes trying to teach every important event for the past 500 years. While Verinis is rather unorganized and assigns a lot of random reading, hes also rather easy to get an A just by his practice tests.

He is unstructured and terrible in every way. I should have gotten an A for enduring his horrible teaching methods. He misses classes and instead of the student ask the teacher questions he asks the students. This teacher is a joke-- class a HORROR.

Unstructured notes! Sporadic discussions. Constantly asking the students questions about the subject b/c he isn't sure of himself. Inappropriate reading material and/or difficult. Tests are basically the review paper he gives a few weeks in advance.
