Took Philosophy 102 online with this professor. Do not recommend! All he counts are the quizzes and there is an extra credit opportunity towards the end of the semester (15 pts). Class was very confusing. 1 major writing assignment, bunch of quizzes, and 1 extra credit opportunity. Do not take. Save ur money and time!

usually we can give course evaluations but i guess not in the summer(?). I want to warn everyone, and to notify the institution soon, for this professor's teaching. Quizzes are locked until a certain day?! I finished the chpt early in an accelerated course. He does not give you your graded quizzes back to you. Wrong & right answers are all hidden.

One of the most boring, confusing Professor I have ever had. I learned more about world religion reading his assigned textbook. Forget sharing your thoughts or even religious views if it differs with his, which most likely it will. He will make you feel like your views are wrong or hogwash. He teaches on his own accord and beliefs,he's confusing.

His quizzes make no sense. I would find answers verbatim in the text and lectures and somehow still did poorly on quizzes. His lectures don't really correspond with the book. And the readings are ridiculously long. Have fun!

The teacher would not respond to my emails. There are many tests which account for most of the grade, and one final paper. The discussions are pretty easy just do them. There is extra credit available but not much. If your an A student and struggle to get a C, maybe its not your fault. Waiting on the outcome of this class.

Firstly, I'm an English major at UNLV. I tried to actively read the professor's lectures but they don't make sense grammatically. If you take this course be sure to buy the access code. I tried asking if it was necessary prior to buying the book, but the teacher claimed to not know what I was talking about. I completely agree with the last post.

Do not take this course. I am a senior with a 3.9 GPA, so I'm confident in saying that if you don't understand this material, it's not your fault, it's Wallis'. His lectures and tests are very poorly written; he refuses to leave feedback and won't let students see the answers to his tests. Maybe a good philosopher: very poor teacher.

Professor Wallis is a very knowledable instructor in many aspects of philosophy. He's very laid back & is passionate about teaching & making sure you understand concepts. I highly recommend.

I took this class online. The material in the beginning is easy to grasp as it goes on it gets harder. The assignments are due weekly in discussion. You are expected to comment back and forth with other students to work out differences. There is no instructor guidance, you never know what's right. One paper due with little guidance. Not recommended

Warning! Do no take this Professor. Confusion at it's best. The entire course was hard to understand. After weeks 1-2 no feed back. With him you will never know if you are on the right track. Many long drawn out confusing lectures. If you want a good grade. Find another professor.

Abandons book in favor of own, much more complicated methods. Class had significant difficulty with truth tables; nearly every student was lost. Had to go to tutoring to get material explained properly. The methods should not be more complicated than the subject matter! Particularly in a class that so many fail.

This class is a breeze. You don't have many assignments at all. Actually the only grades are from quizzes. I barely study and have an A. The online class is easy. You do need the book because it gives tons of examples. Hes a great teacher.

The teacher wanted feedback but u got scold and your religion made fun at. Subject matter changed during lecture way 2 much. Challenging his ideas was a problem. Instructions on essays was not fully stated. Book just for author and few Ch. Writing on the board wow. Not recommend unless need. I loved the subject but teach 1 of the worst.

He is a nice guy, but not objective in his approach. Prepare for New Testament according to Professor Wallis. He never uses the textbook in his lectures (whch are more like discussions or arguments), but the tests are completely based on the textbook. Some students like him, some don't.

Professor Wallis is a good teacher! Philosophy is a difficult subject but he will help you understand any questions you have. Many students think HE is the problem because the subject is difficult, but they only want their grade handed to them and he will not do that. If you want to really LEARN about philosophy then this is your professor!

The material covered is difficult yet relevant to any professional job. I found the class very interesting, an eye opener in critical thinking. Professor Wallis gave me encouragement when I needed it most but never held my hand. A true to the bone college Professor! Give yourself a chance and take Prof. Wallis. NO REGRETS!

The worst teacher of Philosophy 101 at CSN. He gives written assignments with very vague instructions. His lecture notes are so poorly written, which makes you wonder how he even got this position. Pass on this class if you donĂ¢€™t really need it. Take bird watching or goat herding!!!
