He is very funny. But very confusing. Starts his notes on the right side of the board and works his way to the left. Not like you can read them anyways because they're so messy. Tests are hard, read the books. I didn't.. but somehow pulled out a C. Nice man but he's a little crazy haha

ward is such a funny guy. if you arent willing to do the work and come to class, dont take ward! he doesnt take role, but trust me, he notices who comes. there are only three tests, and each test is only 2 questions. you have to read the book (which he wrote so u cant bs the tests), and a smaller book on the side. overall i learned a lot, made a B!

As long as you come to class (most of the time) and take good notes, you will be ok. His tests are really hard but you just have to study out of the book as well as the notes and you will do ok. Not for the faint of heart though...Ward is an interesting guy...

I had Professor Ward for history and i will tell you that i hated history and after taking his clas...i still do. he is crazy and very interesting but his lectures become boring and you cant tell what he is writing on the board. i will tell you though that you will have 3 tests the whole semester and you MUST fill up your blue book!!!!!

ward is a tough teacher, but he knows what he's talkin about. i made a B in the class, and probably missed 5 or 6 classes. he doesnt take attendance, just gives notes. The whole class consists of three tests, and they each have two questions... like the person before said, u must fill up the blue book. BUT, i learned so much, and he is hilarious!

Ward starts of his class by saying don't worry if you make a bad grade on the first test because your final grade is based on improvement. I'll just say that is a lie. His hand writing on the board is ridiculous it consists of lines and arrows which lead to squiggles. The only way to make an A in his class is to fill up your blue book on every test

This man is really entertaining. Harasses the whole class but teaches you history in a way you have probably never experienced before. Made history interesting. His essay tests are rough. You have to have a huge knowledge base from the book and lecture and be able to write a well-written piece. I made a B and I honestly don't think anyone made an A

The funniest professor at UTC! He will make fun of u in all likelihood but note that he cares about his students. He is very unorganized w/ his notes so his lectures can be hard to follow sometimes. His class is no walk in the park. I was happy with a B for once in my life; however, I would fully reccommend him..learned a lot

I took his class last year, enjoyed it so much that I took the second half last spring. It was one of my favorite classes. He's crazy, but makes it fun. He will make fun of you, especially if you wear colorful toboggans. "One day I'm going to walk in and there won't be any students. Then I'll be happy!" Great teacher!

Mr. Ward is a very funny guy. But his notes are crazy. He doesn't erase when he writes on the bored, he just writes over what is already there. The tests are essay in a blue book. You have to read the books. I'd say the best teacher for US History.

Ward is possibly one of the greatest teachers that I have ever had. He has a passion for history and what it can teach you. If you've never had an interest in history or hate history, you will find that he will make you fall in love with it. His test are a bit hard, but if you go to class take good notes and look at old tests, you'll be fine!

i love this man! he is hilarious! he may come off as being rude bc he tends to make jokes at ppl, but he actually makes history fun. you need the books bc 2 essay per test. 3 tests. your grade is your test avg. his notes are no good.. its chicken scratch. esp when he "draws" his own map. hes nice and willing to help. take him!!

Dr. Ward is by far my favorite proffessor at UTC, his lectures are very interesting and fun, his tests are difficult and you have to study, but go to class and participation will boost your grade. Take Ward if you want to be challenged and discover intelligence you did not know you had.

he is nice but can come off rude, but he is just joking. his notes on the board are horrible. you have to listen because you have to tie lecture in with the text that you have to read at home. plus you have to read 3 other books. there are 3 tests that are essay and thats all the grades you get. he grades hard so know everything you possiby can.

Be sure to ask him to clarify what he has said, his written notes are no help. He is always willing to help... if you ask. He requires that you read, and be able to tie your reading into the tests. Be bold and ask for help, you are paying for the class, he is always willing to help those that make an effort! Made a B, and was pleased with my grade.

Okay, Ward is pretty hard, and you HAVE to study, but he is so funny and so willing to help that he makes it all worthwhile. He is a bitter, rude old man, but he's just joking around, and you have to see it as a joke and not as an insult. he found ways to take a horribly narrow, boring subject, like Vikings, and turn it into an exciting class!
