I was excited to take his class. Don't get me wrong, he is a charismatic man. However, I found it ironic that he runs the center for engaged learning, yet fails to stop himself from lecturing way too much. Most of my grade was based on a single, complex paper, a midterm, and the final. You cannot skip the readings since he requires 8 reflections.

By far the best class I took this semester. It was structured differently than any class I've ever taken and I loved it. Tests were multiple choice, identification, and a take home essay. The final exam was not cumulative and essays were still take home. Lecture notes were handed out at the beginning of class and he was easy to listen to.

Had him for global identities. there is a reading prior to every class around 20-40 pages long each and ur supposed to write 8 reflections out of 22*(i think). His tests are hardish all u do is memorize definitions and 10 terms. There is paper due at about midterm which is 6-9 pages long and a group presentation based on subject of your paper.

Don't get me wrong, he's a good teacher, definitely knows what he's talking about, and the lectures are interesting enough, but the class demands so much out of you. One of the hardest classes I've ever taken and the harshest grader I've ever had does not mix very well.

The ultimate college professor type. If you didn't already know he had a Ph.d in International Studies, you would assume he was just a prototypical "dad of the year". Really cool dude. Will push you to get the most out of your assignments. Very honest and fair in grading. If you are engaged in his class, you WILL come out a smarter person.

Excellent teacher. He uses a great combination of lecture and discussion. Also he provides you with a basic idea of notes, so that you are better able to focus on learning as opposed to writing his every word, therefore making the class more engrossing. He is by no means an easy teacher, but very fair. If you do not take a class from him while at B

Very nice sweaters. To much lecture and not enough class discussion. You can get a C with very little effort. However an A will take some work. The work load was well balanced and he gave plenty of time for projects and papers.

Fun guy. Demanding class, but he does his best to make it clear for students. Paper topics a little unclear--be sure to ask him to clarify what exactly he's looking for. Tests not too hard. Discussion encouraged.

Prof Freuh was awesome! He lectured a lot, but was very interesting and allowed for a lot of class discussion. He was very helpful in informing us about test material. He also used movies in his teachings which was a nice change-up from lecturing.
