Took environmental science with her. Didn't really need a textbook, needed to be in class to pass the test, but did post lecture slides on blackboard. She was really nice and very helpful, and tried her best to keep us all interested. Homework wasn't too bad. I really enjoyed her class.

Class I took from her was environmental science. No textbook required but needed to be in class and listen every day. Fair, honest, and extremely knowledgeable. Would take the class again if I had to.

Jan is a co-instructor for this course and I thought/think she is phenomenal! She absolutely loves ornithology and you cannot help but get excited about birds whenever she talks. She also has a great sense of humor and I'd take this course again in a heartbeat. Not too much reading but the discussions are not too great, but not because of Jan.

I really like her as a teacher. I never agreeded with her liberal viewpoints but I respected her and she respected me. In this class you can tell her you don't agree and she isn't going to fail you for not seeing it the same way as her. She was very helpful and interesting.

PROS: Uses many different teaching methods. She brings in guest speakers, takes the class on field trips, uses videos and power point. -CONS: She has NO control over her class during class projects. Her lecture was "dumbed down" to accommodate the teen audience in class at the expense of the more mature students. High school class.

Lectures are very boring. It's hard to stay focused. If you work hard to get an A, you can.
