Jan is by far the best math teacher I have ever had! She will sit down and help you find a way that math makes sense for you! I've always struggled with math, and I managed to get a high B with her help, and this was during a summer class while also taking Anatomy! She's incredibly sweet, and a truly great teacher! TAKE HER CLASS!!

Jan Weiss is very respectful of students who don't follow as well, but she DOES NOT tolerate students who only show up when it's convenient for them/on scheduled test dates. She does teach from a power point and we did more group work than I was comfortable with, but I appreciate the fact that she's trying to make math interesting and applicable.

Jan is the best professor I've had so far- it's going to take a LOT to top her. If the class isn't registering something as quickly as scheduled, she'll set the due dates of homework and tests back so that we can learn while in class. She loves getting us to talk to each other through practice questions so that we can learn from other perspectives.

Jan is a great instructor. Very helpful and makes sure you understand the material. If you don't ask questions when needed, a bad grade is your fault. She teaches through power point but you can see why when in the class.

She's very nice, and very clear. She doesn't make you feel like an idiot when you ask questions. She can be kind of tough at times, you can't get much leeway with her. One time my internet got shut off on mymathlab during a quiz and she wouldn't let me retake it, for example. But I managed to do well her in class, not a bad workload. Nice lady.

Mrs. Weiss' only method of teaching is by using a power point presentation. If you feel you would like a teacher who really tries to teach instead of flipping through slides with no explanation, then I suggest finding another teacher. The average score on the first test was 51/100. She is lazy.
