Jane is the BEST. She's funny, incredibly qualified, and just the right amount of twisted. She's very open to helping students understand information -- talking to her is the hard part. She can be unapproachable because she's a bit harsh sometimes, but she truly does care about her students. No textbooks - all online. Take her for Cemeteries!

Comment:
Professor Baxter's course expectations were quite lofty, but that is to be expected in an intersession course. There are a lot of papers and quizzes, but if you put in the work, an A is definitely achievable. I would not advise taking this course if you're looking for an easy intersession course.

Bad teacher. Follows the system and don't help you to understand the material. Your better buy the book. She is nor a fair while grading you. Sometimes she will take some points if you didn't submit ontime and other times she will take all the points away from your final grade for you late submissions. She doesn't care how hard you work. Thnx depau

Half way through the course and I regret taking a chance on her. She gave a perfect score one week and then half score the next when it was really the same work. She is very arrogant and it does not help that the subject is boring.

There is A LOT of reading for this class, and more than likely a pop quiz the next day. As long as you look like you've read it you'll be fine. Kinda of snarky and sassy but in a good way. As long as you actually put in effort and participate in class you'll be fine.

She gives pop quizzes, which suck, but as long as you show that you kinda did the reading you'll be fine. While she does give off kind of a snarky, sassy, attitude, its not a bad thing. Grades fair. Just put in work and participate and you'll be fine.

There is an unrealistic workload, esp. for an online class. Read a chapter, listen to a 25 minute+ lecture, watch a whole film, take a quiz, write one paper, then discussion group: that's EVERY week, at minimum. She was very arrogant with her feedback, and not clear with assignments. If you give what she asks for, you'll end up with a C each week.

Comment:
Incredibly full of herself and rude. Incredibly rude when I wrote a "sub-par" paper, the reason for it being graded as such was essentially "I disagree with you", gives off this air of unwarranted self-importance. If her class wasn't required for all students, nobody would take it. I don't know where she gets off acting the way she does.

Absolutely a nightmare. Worst teacher ever. You take 10 quizzes throughout the quarter and it only accounts for 10% of your grade, and on top of that her grading is beyond terrible. You write 2-3 page papers every other week after reading 3-4 lengthy case studies and you end up with 50% papers after answering her questions and following rubic.

This class isn't that bad. It's time consuming, but it's not hard. Get ready to read a chapter, watch a 15-20 minute lecturette and a 20 minute film, take a 5 question quiz, and complete a discussion or a 2 pg paper each week. If you manage your time right, it really is not hard at all. She has good insight and she's knowledgeable.

This was by far the worst class I have ever taken. I am an A student and I am currently getting a C- in her class. Impossible grader, arrogant, and expects way too much out of her ONLINE students. Impossible to get an A on anything. DO NOT TAKE. First teacher I have felt so strongly about that I wrote a review.

I cannot express how glad I am to have taken Honors Explore Cemeteries with such an engaging professor. No textbooks were required -- just readings online. Simply read, participate, and write well. People confuse her confidence for hubris, but she is insanely authentic and sweet. Talk to her and you will instantly make a marvelous friend.

Whoa! Beware. Her writing is aggressive and she is not helpful at all. She's very condescending And takes pride in her credentials- which is not a problem if you're actually helping your students get to that point. Very rude and confrontational. Drop her class immediately.

Professor Baxter was really cool and knows a ton about all of the houses and neighborhoods that you your in This Old Chicago House. She even lives in one of them. She's a pretty easy and fair grader. Overall the houses you tour are really incredible but the tours tend to get very boring and there is a lot of walking but overall great class
