Prof. Afary, is a rare professor in history as she's lived through much of the history and politics she teaches. Iranian history and Persian culture is magnificent and complex. Purdue is extremely lucky to have such a prof of Afary's level. I loved the multi-media she used to teach. Tons of films, journals, books, audio, and videos.

Dr. Afary's class was amazing. We discussed a good range of time. We thoroughly discussed the 20th Century and the current situation in Iran.

She did very little lecturing herself, had students make summaries of reading and present all during class, very very boring and it also made reading the readings redundant. Course has so much more potential, which she squandered.

does not know what she is talking about. Uses unknown sources and teaches from her prespective very baised. Course requries a lot of reading and no test just papers. I recommand avoiding her if you want to learn a certian subject from a fair point of view
