I had her for a team taught honors seminar. However she monopolized it and held us overtime. She was rude if you did not agree with her, even if you could support your opinion. Her grading was very unclear.Plays favorites, so if you get on her good side(which is not based on your academic performance, but more your love of her)than you will enjoy her.

I took this class online and it was pretty stright forward. Read the book. Do the informal responses (WITH QUOTES!!). Post to the discussion board. There are two tests. Overall the class is easy and really interesting.

Comment:
Dr. Badia is not too bad, in the beginning of the semester you do a lot of random assignments and writings, later on it is primarily set for your final research paper. Attendance is mandatory, >4 absences and you fail. Otherwise not too bad and likes to sit down and critique papers in group settings.

Dr. Badia was a very helpful, understanding professor. Yes, you do have to read the books to get a good grade, but honestly folks - you're in college! She has high expectations, but there is no reason why you shouldn't get an A if you try. I will completely recommend her to other students!

Unlike the last poster I came to college to learn. It's awesome to be able to take a class with someone who is so into her research and I learned alot. Dr. Badia makes me want to go to grad school!

This is the worst class ever. DO NOT TAKE IT! She is very hard in grading and gives you absolutely no feedback. She is also very very slow in getting assignments returned to you in a timely manner for you to benefit. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE even though it is online.

The online class is not bad at all. You have to do informal assignments, post to the discussion board, and take three exams. She is slow on grading and does not give feedback on assignments. However, she is very knowledgeable about the subject and provides a good learning environment!

I took this class online, and loved it! It wasn't very time consuming, and the readings were interesting. Not painstaking at all. She grades tough on exams, and upon submitting answers to your assignments online, QUOTE! If you do, you'll get an A.

I went to this class hating the thought of ethnic literature. WRONG! Great class that spurred interest in reading items I would never dream of in the past. Dr. Badia is young, motivated, and an asset to an English dept. that to be honest, left a lot to be desired in the past.

Dr. Badia is possibly the most beautiful and intelligent woman teaching at Marshall. She's extremely motivated and loves what she teaches. She's pretty tough, but completely worth it.

Confused me with haughty readings. Feminist. Prof is friendly and allows for different opinions in the class, but I always felt like she wanted me to agree with her. As a person, I respect her. As a teacher, not so much. Unclear grading? Marked "-" wrong as a hyphen. Said it should be "--" ??

I did not know what to except from the class and her but I learned many things, and enjoyed the readings. You have to read but it's not overwhelming. I got a B. She's young, fresh, one of the best choices. Give her a chance and you'll never regret it.
