If you are assigned this teacher, RUN. She teaches her students as if they are 5 year olds, purposely pronounces POC students names wrong, and assigns multiple chapters at once for homework. Harms shows up late every single class period, and is an absolutely atrocious teacher. Take anyone but her, or take applied!!

Literally the worst teacher I have ever had. Doesn't help or teach piano. Assigns too much in one week so it's impossible to master what is given to you. Gives harsh grades but doesn't tell you how to improve at all. Take applied if she's your only option. This class was the worst decision I've made yet.

DON'T DO IT!!! If I wanted to teach myself piano, I would have just bought the book. Don't expect her to help you out, she's not very open to questions during class, and you're pretty much screwed if you have any concerns.

The class consists of you practicing and then showing up to class. You won't get much help from her. I HIGHLY recommend you take Music Fundamentals while taking this class, will help SO much. I recommend another prof but honestly if you practice you'll get an A. The class session = show up and play what you practiced, then get hw assignment, end.

Beginning piano - Do NOT take this class if you have zero piano experience. I had 9 years of lessons as a kid so I aced the class but if you have never played the piano before, take someone else. She's tough. No HW or midterm just a final exam where you play a scale and a 2 page song for her

I literally couldn't sleep the night before this class because I had so much anxiety. Maybe if she actually taught it wouldn't have been so awful. 15 weeks later, I still can't play the piano. DON'T DO IT GUYS. Worst unit I ever spent.

DO NOT take this class if you have never played before. She doesn't know how to help if you are beginning. Requires 5 hours/week - doesn't see through the lies of students who "practiced." Really hurts those who are honest. Be prepared to get a B or lower if you don't lie. If you do handbells, then she will love you even if you "suck" at piano.

Horrible Teacher!! I had her 2 semesters ago and still hear terrible things about her! Not a very happy person, and does not explain anything in class. She grades hard as well, made my Mondays suck!!! Don't take piano w/ her if you want a life and to understand basics in music.
