Dr. Irons can be a little quirky but she is very helpful and understanding professor. She is willing to give extra time on papers if you just explain your situation. She'll also grade your papers in her office in front of you if you set up an appointment. Part of your grade includes participation which is talking in class and showing up.

She's a little crazy, but in a good way. Her enthusiasm makes the class fun. Don't underestimate her though; you will work hard in her class. I would definitely take a class with Dr. Irons again.

Had Dr. Irons for Recent U.S. History. She is one of the best History professors in a department full of pretty good history professors. She is extremely helpful in making sure you understand the material and one of the nicest people I've met. Makes class interesting and I really got a lot out of it. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone.

definitely the best professor in the history department. very clear lectures and very helpful after class. 2 tests, a paper and a final. tests have about 9 short answer questions and you choose 6 to answer, and she gives 2 or 3 essay questions, from which you choose only one to answer. great class!

One of the truly great professors at this university. Very smart and interesting, but very human, too, in the way that she can relate to students and relate to the subject matter. She will work with every, single student until everyone understands the material. Challenging for history majors, but also understands not everyone is a history major.

had this lady in my fresh year. im a conservative male. she did not abuse or berate me. she was fair, fun and insightful. maybe she has changed, or maybe the previous rater has never seen open political discussion. she was very steadfast but she is passionate. if you want to further yourself, enjoy this class.

She is a paradox,lovely woman who is passionate about teaching but she is an impossible 5&10er who hates conservatives I have watched her belittle a conservative male in my class before and it was horrible someone who preaches unbias should practice it too...but that aside she is a great teacher of history who keeps you interested with her humor

I had her last year but I absolutely loved the class and her. Looking forward to taking another class with her in the future. Tests are all essay so if that doesn't float your boat, you might want to look elsewhere but definitely take her if you get the chance!!
