Great professor. I took this class as a 7 week summer class which was a little over whelming, but she really makes chemistry easy to understand. What is expected of you is made clear from the beginning. Super understanding and willing to help you.

I took her hybrid class which is mainly online. You dont have to go to class except when you have to take a test. There is 1 or 2 units per week. She handles the lecture and its very easy to read and follow. After, there is a quiz per unit. The quizzes are just 5 question based on the reading. I never used my book to be honest. I got an A.

I took the hybrid course. All her lectures and videos are very informative. Her quizzes and tests directly reflect the homework and assignments. It is easy to do well in this class as long as you study.

Definitely a good professor, however lectures tend to get boring after a while, and she does give a lot of work. With that being said, a lot of work isn't a bad thing as it increases your grade if you don't test well. It's just a lot if you're taking 15 credits or more. Still, her tests are not impossible just study and you'll be okay.

Prof J is passionate and can explain the important concepts very well. Mastering Chem would lay the foundations upon which you build the concepts and skills presented in class. I got an A and I always started by doing mastering chem before lecture and then after lecture I reviewed her lesson and did a bunch of practice problems

Professor J is very nice and helpful. Chemistry is a hard subject and you can tell she loves her job. There are quizzes, OWL, and tests that are graded. There are practice tests online from 2008 for each test (3 of them and the final) but it is still challenging.

gen chem 2 is a lot of work no matter who you take. her lectures are dry but shes really knowledgeable. ALWAYS look over test during office hours, TWICE she marked questions wrong that were right. she has 'fair' tests (How fair can it b tho when each multiple choice is 5 points?). take quizes in person. not online. 100x easier and similar to tests

I took chem 117 online with prof J and she was great. Very fair grader and gave extra time for assignments if needed. She is very easy to reach and responds to emails/questions fairly quick. Would definitely recommend taking her class, especially online.

Professor J is amazing! She's super smart and has a passion for chem. Lab's super easy- she explains everything. Lectures can be long, but she's very clear. She's always willing to help and answer questions. OWLS are a must. If you get 100% on them, you should pass her exams. I have to retake chem (personal issues) and I'm taking her class again.

I felt like I had 4 professors because what was taught in class did not help me on the assigned homework, what I learned from the assigned homework did not help me on the quiz, and none of it helped for the tests. Nothing was taught about concepts or theories. A typical class is her showing the formula then a few examples and thats it

Prof J's test were very easy as long as you prepare properly. Doing the practice tests and buying the spectator sport book is essential to passing. Also print out the power point notes There is a quiz every week and the owl online work is due by the test. And if you don't like chemistry you probably will fall asleep but try not to

I had Johannessen for my chem I class. She's a good teacher, and I got an A-, but if you ask her for anything out of the ordinary... like help making work up after being out sick... she is rude, and unresponsive. Overall I would not recommend because of this.

didn't get too much help from her at all during my online class at TESC, but hey, that's distance learning. if you can youtubetextbook chemistry online learning this subject is okay. I mean I don't think you need to do this OL at all, guided study would be just the same.

Chem 2 is a continuation of Chem 1. If you did poorly in Chem 1, Chem 2 will be hard (no matter who teaches it). Chem 2 builds on concepts you learn in Chem 1. She uses lecture powerpoints and goes over lots of problems in class. Study the powerpoints and know how to do the problems and you will be fine for the tests. Challenging course. Got an A.

Excellent professor. Always available for extra help during office hours. The material she teaches may be difficult at first. But if you take advantage of all the online resources she provides (review tests, assignments, power point lecture notes, VIDEO TAPED LECTURES!!), this class will be a breeze. Don't be afraid to ask questions too.

While she was a very knowledgable professor, she was extremely monotone and her lectures were a bore, if you take her prepare to nearly fall asleep in every single lecture. Her tests were extremely difficult, and when I went to her for help she suggested I withdrew from the class. DONT TAKE HER IF YOU WANT TO PASS CHEMISTRY.

I took this class during the summer. It's not easy if you don't know anything prior to this class about chemistry but if you study hard and do the quizzes and reviews she gives online, you'll do fine. She is nice too.
