Janet is the best! I am a philosophy major and she got me into philosophy! She's always there for you when you need her, she gives honest feedback on assignments and truly wants all of her students to succeed. I'm so lucky that I got her for FIYS. She's a not-so-hidden gem at LFC. She has so many years of experience here that she is so knowledgable

Professor McCracken is one of the most devoted, motivated, and hilarious professors on campus. She cares deeply for her students and the subjects that she teaches. She's always willing to help andor even talk. She's a wonderful human being. Her class is difficult, she will make you work for a good grade. But you will learn soooooo much.

One of my favorite teachers ever. She is a very good lecturer and was very interesting. Sweetest woman ever. If you care and try, she will work with you. She is very very flexible if you are struggling on a paper or what not. I turned every paper in late. She might be a tough grader, but if you go and talk to her, she will help you.

She is so personal with her students and willing to discuss absolutely anything. I've gone to her office hours just to chat with her. She's hilarious. She makes everything very clear, and will help you in any way she can, every step of the way. She's the only one of my professors that noticed the symptoms of my depression setting in freshman year.

McCracken means well but overall she is a horribly tough grader. I know that I've left the class in tears as my essays were completely lambasted. Good luck to all of you, you'll need it.

She makes philosophy interesting, which can sometimes be difficult. She's really easygoing when asking for an extension, but come to class or prepare to be utterly confused come next class. She moves at a fast pace, just read the text, and she'll explain the rest.

Prof McCracken is a born teacher. She spells out amazingly complex ideas in memorable and entertaining ways. Listening to her talk was a blast. If you aren't an exceptional writer, though, don't expect an A--she's the real deal when it comes to grading. But you can expect that, if you are invested in the material, she will be invested in you.

Charismatic. Fun to be in the same room with. I smile just looking at her. She?s flaky, but smart. Wants to teach and makes an effort, though she is possibly a bit self-indulgent. Attacks teaching like a student and has confidence to take risks. Gives a close reading to your paper. Not a genius, and not the best teacher, but memorable and special a
